So I am going for a motif of a fur trader on my F2P account and outside of a ranger which I have played to death what class is optimally suited from a skills perspective to be a successful skinner.

I am assuming empath and warrior based on their FA abilities but was curious from the community on your thoughts.

You should be forewarned that F2P has limitations on skinning. Basically, if you've hit you silver cap for the day, you will be unable to skin anything. Secondly, you are only allowed to skin creatures that you can learn from, so no skinning rats past level 10 for example.

Empath is 2nd best skinner with 3x first aid.

ah solid tidbits, good to know.

I'd say warrior's probably pretty close after that. Lots of leeway in their training plans, usually solid skinning stats, and relatively cheap skinning skills.

I'd also suggest any class that allows you to reasonably (training point wise) train in scrolls/miu so that you can either invest in scrolls with the Skinning spell that will give you a bonus or buy imbeds with it.

Edit: Remember that if it's just for a certain spell, you don't have to train AS/MIU forever, just enough to be able to reliably cast that spell you want without a significant amount of failure.

A halfling empath would be the second best possible!

Wizards would probably be the worst, they can only 1x survival. :(

going with a forest gnome empath to give it a shot.

I'd go with halfling empath. You are going to get to a point, probably around level 40 or so, and realize that the +5 spirit CS is not worth losing out on the +40 elemental TD.

As someone who has played countless forest gnomes because I like the idea of playing a spiritual gnome, I always have this thought process running in my head. In fact, my cleric is level 23 right now and I'm pondering rerolling into a halfling.

I desperately want to play a garden gnome or similar archetype. One of my special moves is afk'ing real well outside of player's homes.
