I know Soulpieced made a thread with the intent of hearing what you wanted for Christmas so he could decide what he wanted, but really, who cares about Soulpieced?

So anyway. What are you giving? I like hearing what your gift ideas are bc I suck at thinking. And also because sometimes things old people give eachother are funny.

I got my dad the Pink Panther DVD collection... we used to sit and watch those old movies on TV when I was a kid, so I think he'll get a kick out of it.

And I bought myself a TV.

I will probably be ordering some historic wartime something or other off of ebay for brother number one. Something/anything with a Texans logo on it will do for brother number two. Something involving golf for the father figure and something involving jewelry for the mom.

The husband is getting updated D&D books, Xbox games and the Lord of the Rings boxset (yeah, I spoil him rotten). Roomate number one will get a ticket to something - ballet or opera usually does it. Roomate number two will be getting Xbox stuff too. Roomate number three will get something from Zone'D Erotica.

I'm getting the neice a PC this year because its about time for her to be converted to nerdom.

Plus inlaws, co-workers, sending out company xmas cards blah blah blah....the list goes on. I hate Xmas shopping.

I blame that fucker Jesus for being born. :grr:

Hmmm got some silly pervert joke gifts for my best friend Matt....and I got novelty stuff for my friend Stacey of all the things she really likes (strawberry shortcake, Invader Zim, Foamy the Squirrel, and Harry Potter candy).

My fiance bought me the Pink Panther DVD collection for my birthday :) :) :) :) Only watched the first two so far, though I have seen them all many times before.

As for what I'll be giving, I suggested buying a tv for my fiance's mom, something cheap and crap, She hasn't had a tv in ages, listens to the radio all the time so I figured it might be nice for her. No idea at all what to buy my mom, maybe some CDs, Dean Martin or Tammy Wynette (spelling). For my fiance..... I have a few ideas but not posting because he reads the boards heh.

The wife has had a season long gift - me remodeling.

If I get the foyer and TV room done before next week, I'll be building a deck and hopefully have a hot tub in it without her noticing.

The kids - Much to the dismay of my wallet, they want American Girl dolls and books. I just finished the play room two days ago and moved the computer station, TV, DVD and guitars ... So; I'm thinking PS2 or X-box. Sort of the gift that I get to.

My parents will be getting wine and a home depot gift card.

My brothers in Iraq will be getting portable DVD players with screens and digital cameras from the family, along with a hefty supply of spice cake, fudge, cookies and macaroons.

The nieces, nephews, and sisters in law will be getting clothes and visa gift cards. We're also looking into getting them both out of the crappily managed apartments and into something better before Feb.

The sis gets a visa gift card because no matter what we get her, she exchanges it.

The in-laws I leave for my wife to handle.

Boyfriend: I'm getting him a 20GB iPod that's engraved with something so he remebers.

My Mother: An antique doll or some sort. Kind of hard to explain - but she collects a certain type.

Step Father - External Hard drive because his got stolen when the house was broken into.

Most of my friends - Either clothing or gift cards. A few of them cheap dildos as a joke.

Father - Not quite sure.

So far, for my daughter

Play-doh McDonalds
Play-doh fun factory
Play-doh fun with food kitchen
Elefun
Silly 6-pins
a dress up trunk full of princess clothes
Interact-tv Dora CD
Talking Blues clues
Pooh computer game
Blues Clues computer game
Dora computer game
Dora talking dollhouse
Strawberry Shortcake toothbrush set
Strawberry Shortcake dolls (5 of them)

I'm finishing her list today... no, she's not spoiled at all...

My husband and I are getting a PS2 for each other, no suprises there. We got my inlaws a new TV, and that scent CD thing, we love ours. We bought my mom various things to help her around the house, her wrists were injured at work and has medical issues, she can't do many simple things like open a jar, so we got her a nifty jar opener and such.

I'm getting my husband a telescope, but I've slacked on the research. I can't go overboard on the money, but I want something decent, too.

My daughter will be the one getting the most gifts, of course.

My parents will each get something small, we all spent all our money on Germany this year.

I also got a little "sword" for my daughter to give her dad when we were in germany.

Husband - Season pass to Disneyland (I'm getting one from him). I also sneakily bought him a few little things - the new Tiger Woods PS2 game and a Michigan sweatshirt he wanted.

Parents - Picked out a good book for both of them, a nice jade necklace for my mom and a sleeve of Titleists for my dad.

Grandparents - Amethyst necklace for Grandma along with a gardening book, Grandpa gets a subscription to a photography magazine he likes and a Tom Brokaw (sp?) book.

In-laws - Mom gets a jade fetish bracelet and a few weird random office things that are kind of gag gifts, Dad gets a sleeve of Titleists and a jazz CD. Brother gets an Illinois shirt.

Becky (friend) - Book about wine because she's becoming a wine snob.

Christi and Eric (best friend and husband) - Night Out envelope with GCs to Buster's (Flagstaff restaurant), movie theatre and ColdStone. I also got Christi this really freakin' cool National Geographic book that she'll adore.

Lisa (friend) - Bought her a book called Kiss My Tiara. If you (girls) haven't read it, you should.

Aunt Jill - scrunchies every year, a silver twist necklace and an NAU Alumni keychain she's been asking for.

Uncle Alan - The Last Amateurs by John Feinstein. He loves basketball, and it's one of the few sports books that even I've enjoyed. I recommend it.

Macey and Maile (cousins) - Baby NAU t-shirts (we have a lot of NAU alumni in our family), hair ribbons, sparkly lip stuff, sparkly lotion, and these fun little ballerina skirts I found. They're probably my favorite to shop for.

Everyone at my (old) work gets a bottle of my family's Christmas Hooch. I'll post the recipie if anyone wants to make it, you can make a huge batch and give it out in cool looking bottles to random friends and acquaintances.

I procrastinate big time when it comes to Christmas shopping. The only presents I've gotten are for my mom and girlfriend. My mom is getting a antique elephant statue that she's wanted for some months now. My girl is getting a pair of .25 carat platinum pincess cut diamond stud earrings.
I still have alot of shopping to do and it makes me want to
The siblings are getting giftcards all around and I'm still deciding what to get my dad and step-dad(dvd's or maybe gift cards to Home Depot). Step-mom isn't getting anything but a Christmas card.

Tsa'ah... in 2, maybe 3 years, those American Girl dolls will end up clothless, hairless, and/or marked on and your daughters will never look back on them.

My mother probably put a good $500 into that shit for my sister back in the day. It's completely crap.

My mom: These enesco ornaments she used to buy but they stopped making them... I found some on e-bay

Since I don't have much money to give presents out (besides for a few people) I'll be printing out a lot of cards that read:

And this I know. I don't think the girls have collecting in mind, but rather a doll that goes with a series of books. Books that my oldest daughter reads to my youngest.

The wife and I have talked about it and talked about it. We don't like getting uber expensive gifts for anyone, but I think we're caving this year and getting two dolls, one for each of them, and then no more. Even the miniatures run in excess of 20 bucks each. Shit, GI Joe figures were less than 2 bucks each when I was a kid. Transformers ran from 3 - 12 depending on the size .... those did something!

My boyfriend-- paid for over half of his ticket to fly here and spend 9 days with us over the holidays. Have two other gifts but won't post them here cause he posts hehe

My mom-- a t-shirt with all the kids handprints on it and their names, birthdays under them. A chain to put her charms on that we bought her last year (those people shaped charms with the birthstones on them)

My aunt- a cedar birdhouse and some neat really warm socks (she loves the cute ones and is old so she looooves socks and blankets)

My dad- toss up between the Tiger Woods computer game or The Godfather on DVD

My stepmom- not sure, don't really know hwat to get someone who is stuck up, only likes the VERY best and has practically everything anyhow. :(

My neice- car seats for her brand new car and a gift card to a music store.

My son- Jack3 on Ps2, a portable cd player with headset, a new bedset (comforter, pillow cases, sheets, matching pillow etc.), 2 subscriptions to comic books (he loves them), Spiderman 2 on DVD, The Hobbit in hardback, a new bike, some neat slippers he wanted that look like bulldogs, and some silk pajama pants that he wants.

My daughter-- A new bike, ballerina outfit with shoes, tutu, tights and tiara; dress up shoes, a dress up gown, a magical talking wand, a furry purse that has a pad and pen inside to match (she's 5 and is really into making notes to give to people go figure), some coloring books with new colors and markers, some new slippers that are pink fur with black pawprints on em, a new Bratz Bedset with matching pillow

My baby boy-- new VCR, some new videos, Shrek 2 on video casette, a new bed and bedset (he's finally outgrown his crib yay!), playdough with plastic cookie cutters to use on it, some magnetic numbers and letters with a metal board to use them on (he loves those damned things), a "Boo-bah", a talking Shrek, coloring books and crayons and some new scooby Doo slippers.

Plus my daughter and oldest son got a dvd/vcr combo to go in their room so they can watch both DVD's and VCR tapes. They also got a walkie talkie set to use with each other as a combo gift.

The American Girl dolls make excellent gifts for girls who are already into the books. My mom bought my sister the Addy doll and the bed/dresser/and other additions when she was around 10 and she still has it 5 years later and the set's in good condition. At this point she doesn't play with the set any more so it's getting to the stage where it's now for collecting.
Next thing you know they'll be asking you to take them to the American Girl store downtown... be ready Tsa'ah.

We're all conspicuous consumers around here. If we see something we want, we get it RIGHT NOW! :D

At Christmas, it's become tradition with us to take turns deciding to which charity we will donate this year's gift-giving money. It's grandmother's turn to choose this year.

Here's the recipie for teh Christmas Hooch... indulge!

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup Heavy Cream
4 eggs
2 Tblsp.Chocolate Syrup
2 Tea. Kahlua
1 Tea. Vanilla extract
1/2 Tea. Almond extract
1 3/4 cups Irish Whisky (Canadian Club is best) if you use a very cheap whiskey it will not be smooth.

Mix sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream and eggs - beat VERY well until mixture is VERY smooth (make sure no egg whites are left in globs).

Add syrup and extracts - mix very well again.
Add whiskey slowly and mix while adding.

Keep it in the refrigerator. Pour it in a small glass over ice and sip - it's really rich. But not nasty like eggnog.
