Looking for a "spell up" character possibly a wizard or sorcerer; mid 20's or even 30's. Any race will do, don't need fixskills as long as it's not too wierdly trained. Wondering how much this will run me? Btw, must be an F2P character, not sure if that would move the price any.
P.S. Looking for my original character; Maximus, called up my pal who I gave him to, said he sold him. Was a warrior apparently now level 50. Would be willing to over pay for him due to nostalgia factor, although, this was 25 years ago.

Just so you know F2P can't spell your characters up unless you buy a spellup pass. They may have changed this recently but I am fairly certain its restricted.
If you want to know ALL the restrictions check out the gswiki about free to play it's pretty handy for that stuff.

Just so you're aware, F2P accounts are restricted from casting spells (even beneficial spells) on other players. You would have to purchase a spell pass from Simucoin store to use a wizard (for example) as a spell-up character.
The only spells a F2P account can use on other players without a spell pass are 101, 401, and 1204. In addition, the F2P accounts cannot access society skills without a pass, which makes it very hard for a young (20s) wizard or sorcerer to perform a full 4-hour spellup without a mana battery...
The F2P spell casting pass is only 10 simucoins for 15 minutes of unrestricted spells. That's about $.10 per 15 minutes of spellups.

Are you in dire need of a spellup, but the only available spellcasters are on Free-to-Play accounts and can't help you out? A Receiving Spell Pass is just the thing for you! While in effect, this pass allows all Free-to-Play accounts to freely spell you up with any beneficial spells that they know. The pass is applied automatically upon in-game delivery and will last for 15 real time minutes.
I believe this means that you are open to F2P spell ups for 15 minutes in which time an F2P can cast whatever spells on you. Not entirely sure on that though.
In terms of mana, couldn't I make 12 level 2 wizards to act as my mana battery? Again, not sure how that will work if it can work at all.

You'd need to massively overtrain elemental mana control just to get that just to get that 8ish mana from those batteries. Doing that and F2P in general are too much work to avoid paying the sub fee.

You can't send mana as a F2P account.

With a casting pass; the wiki says you can. Wiki might be out of date. Btw, which 2 or 3 classes would I need for a well-rounded spell up?

Wizard, cleric, ranger. Really just a Wizard and anything that can cast spirit spells, unless you plan on hunting them together. Then a cleric becomes really nice if you're a warrior. Plus raises.

They have done a great deal to prevent F2P characters from being effective as "bots" on purpose. Simu knows that a good 20-30% of their account revenue comes from support accounts because that's a primary reason for multiple accounts. Losing that to F2P characters would be a big hit to their revenue, so they did a fantastic job neutering all F2P from ever being effective at the primary support account role - spell-up bot.
So, buy or hunt a wizard to 25. Train him 2x in HP, 2x in EMC, 1x+ in MjE spells, 1x+ in MnE spells and completely ignore Wizard spells to be an effective spell-up F2P bot. Buy him some mana regeneration enhancives, and find a good place to use 516 around the town you're going to hunt around. This will give you the longest duration casts of your 500 and 400 spells, extra mana regen from the EMC and more mana from HP. Then you can go out and use 516 to steal mana from creatures within your 15 minute window.
Give your main character ~20 ranks of EMC and some good HP and they should be able to share their own mana pretty easily.

Rangers have access to minor spiritual wards, so really just need a Wizard and a spell-trained Ranger for a complete set of spells (maybe a scroll for 202) ... and a monk

Only useful F2P character is a ranger.... I was able to forage for my level 25 sorc rather easy at level 10 even without a pass.

Actually, my F2P paladin is amazingly useful. I'll let others figure out why on their own.

F2P pallys are pretty amazing, as almost none of their group spells are locked opposed to bards which are probably the worst F2P

This gives me an idea! How feasible is it to play and level up two or even three characters at the same time? In my time back in 1991 I would think this would be very difficultbut after fiddling and probably just scratching the surface on the power of scripting and lich it seems conceivable that one player could play several characters at once. How difficult would this be? Has anyone done this before?

Sabreon played like 6 at one time. There are some scripts out there to make it pretty easy as I understand it. Not my cup of tea but there is nothing to preclude it in the rules so long as you are at the keyboard.

It is trivial. You can hunt them separately or together using bigshot.
When I last played with bigshot's grouping, it would kinda max out at about 5 characters because of ruby's green threads and how busy the coordination thread would get. That was years and many versions ago so it may have since been addressed.
There's also crosscharcom (or something very similarly named) to allow cross character communications, but I haven't played with that at all.

If you're looking to MA, stick with 2 characters. It's just easier to manage, you have less chance of failing script checks, and you will spend less time with one or more character fried while the other(s) are still only numbed or muddled. Also bear in mind that if you have a F2P character, it will level 30% slower than your non-F2P character. Eventually the disparity between the two characters will be too great. Fortunately, Paladins are very good at over-hunting if they get outside spells from Wizards and use pure potions. They have very strong defense with good armor, and hunt very well in groups with high AS.
That isn't why I like my F2P paladin though. He has a very unique use to my main characters.
