With the new fixskills coming out for RSN, I'm dropping lockpicking to pick up heavy armor for the new MoC changes.

I'd like to get in plate, but I know I cant get the ranks I need for it.

I can get a max of 104 ranks in armor, and my stats are as follows:

Strength (STR): 100 (25) ... 100 (25)
Constitution (CON): 76 (13) ... 76 (13)
Dexterity (DEX): 100 (30) ... 100 (30)
Agility (AGI): 100 (35) ... 100 (35)
Discipline (DIS): 83 (11) ... 83 (11)
Aura (AUR): 81 (15) ... 81 (15)
Logic (LOG): 70 (10) ... 70 (10)
Intuition (INT): 75 (12) ... 75 (12)
Wisdom (WIS): 68 (9) ... 68 (9)
Influence (INF): 55 (7) ... 55 (7)

While theoretically I should go back and re-place my stats, but since I dont know what the starting numbers were, it'd rather moot. But anyway, what's the next step down from plate, and how many ranks of armor use would I need for armor around there?

MPB. You have a -3 RT from your stats, so wouldn't need to be fully trained to wear it at min swing RT.

Info start tells you your starting stats. And how are you planning on hiding in plate?

They havent implimented that rogues must wear brig and be able to hide.

Your stats don't matter, as the two important ones in regards to armor are already maxxed anyway.

Yeah, but I posted the stats so people can say: "Wow, your stats are maxed already? WTF you thinking!?"

And I am considering re-placing my stats for better TP coverage and higher stats overall. Just dont know where to place em.

Anyway, back on topic, MBP best I can get? That covers limbs/head with chain like coverage right?

It does yes, but you still gain plate DFs everywhere.

so which armor is best for the profession? I just don't see plate being in character... was thinking chain mail shirt (something light) but stronger then brig.

At 104 ranks you've trained away 10 seconds of armour RT.

Full plate has a 12 second modifier.

Your dex/agi bonus is 65 which is good for a four second reduction of weapon RT. Let's assume you use a falchion:

falchion 5 second base speed + 2 seconds untrained armour penalty - 4 seconds dex/agi bonus = 5 second base speed (cannot go below 5).

So assuming you use OHE you can wear full plate right now. Of course there is always the manuever penalty but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

I wouldn't go with plate, MBP gives you the best DF without nearly as much training, and reduction in mobility. While it was planned to affect hiding and those sort of skills, it already does affect dodging.
Plate is for one class of characters, warrior types with lots of PT, that is people that will get hit alot and counter that by having a low armor DF and a high damage redux. A typical ambush rouge is neither of those.

Right now you can wear full plate if you want but I tend to agree that MBP is a good compromise. Plus you only need 80 ranks to wear it.

MBP is ?

Metal breastplate, plate armour that covers the torso.
