Hey all,

I just returned to playing recently and I'm rolling up a new Paladin. I'm still only level 10, but I had a question in regards to weapon choice. I already decided to go with a one hander and shield. I'm probably going with blunt weapons since Morning Stars seem pretty awesome.

My question is in regards to 1625. When I used to play, I know that there were certain weapons that couldn't be blessed (flares, crit weighted, etc...). Does this same limitation apply to using 1625 on a weapon? If I can have special properties on the weapon, what sort of properties should I look for?

Also, from what I read, it looks like there isn't any particular bonus for having a weapon that is already sanctified normally, like a white ora or eonake weapon. Is that correct?

Thanks for any help!

First, morning stars are always a great choice.

Onto the questions. It is perfectly possible to sanctify a non-blessable weapon. In many cases it is in fact preferable to do so. The only advantage to using a blessable weapon is that it will gain guiding light style plasma flares. If you have another weapon with superior abilities to those plasma flares, that would be a nice one to pick instead.

I am a particular fan of forged weapons, but otherwise the properties you desire will be pretty you specific. There is nothing particularly better or worse when coupled with 1625 in my opinion. The only exception is "pure" scripted black ora weapons as they will still not work on the undead when sanctified (it is specific to that script).

Already sancted is no advantage to 1625.

Pure black ora also blocks guiding light flares

A perfect forged handaxe does quite well too. I may have a 7x available one of these days if I can ever finish my longsword enchant.
