Looking for any info and appraisal of the following:

Loresong: The branding iron seems to be made from some heat-treated metal that you have never seen before. There is some powdered ash around the tip of the branding iron, indicating it has been used on something that would account for the residue.

Your song gives a vision of Agarnil Kris showing an apprentice dwarf how to use the branding iron. He presses on the branding iron while holding some item in his other hand that you can't quite make out and smoothly inserts it in the bottom opening of the branding iron.

The vision resumes as you see Agarnil point the hot iron at a severely bleeding patient and firmly hold it on the bleeding area until the flesh begins to cauterize, sealing the wound.

A black branding iron - Based off the iron that Agarnil Kris, the NPC Teras healer uses, this iron will cauterize any bleeding wound permanently. The wound, not a scar, will remain, so that it can still be healed by an empath.

Ultimate field-raising piece, as you can cauterize all the wounds on a dead person and s/he won't bleed out, as well as a brilliant RP tool with a lot of functionality (especially if you're a Mularosian). Forget about carrying herbs around and just cauterize every serious wound until you get back to town.

The branding iron is about twelve inches long made up of some kind of metal you can't identify. Near the tip there are a number of small holes that surround it. A small inscription reading "load here" is near the bottom of the handle which is wrapped in heavy leather. The tip is rounded and flattened on the end.

In use:
You put a gold wand in the iron, then wave it to heat it up, then point it at the person you want to cauterize. You can also use it on yourself. Seems to use 1 charge from the wand per cauterization.


You push your wand inside the open handle of the branding iron.
Nuadjha slides a wand into the bottom of his branding iron.

As you wave the branding iron smoke pours from holes on the side and the tip begins to glow red hot.

You take the red hot branding iron and give it to Ayas right on her open wound with the hot end. Ayas screams out in pain as the hot iron sizzles against the flesh which begins to smoke and burn. Smoke pouring off the wound stings your eyes and the smell of burning flesh brings undigested food back into your throat which you quickly swallow. You must hold it very steady to prevent the wound from reopening.
Ayas writhes in pain.

As Nuadjha waves the branding iron smoke pours from holes on the side and the tip begins glow red hot.

Nuadjha takes the red hot branding iron and gives it to you right on your open wound hot end first. You scream out in pain as the hot iron sizzles against the flesh which begins to smoke and burn. The sensation is very painful!
You are hurt for 2 points of damage.
You writhe in pain for 14 seconds.
Roundtime 14 seconds.

You see Ayas the Shieldmaiden.
She appears to be a Half-Elf.
It is difficult to properly see her features as the hood of her cloak is pulled down over her face.
She has a lurid flame-wreathed eye tattoo on her wrist.
She has a completely severed right leg. (But no bleeding)

Thanks - I found that too, but someone suggested it may have other uses as well. Right now, it's unclear to me if the RT is less for rank 2 vs. rank 3 wounds, if the RT is less or more for yourself/others, and a few other questions. Just trying to get a full sense of what they can do.

While it was available for 100K scrip at the last Duskruin, it did not sell for that, so I'm not sure how to value it. That last post was from about 5 years ago, so the price may be different.
