So someone gave me a pretty good estimate on what the true value of a fish spine sword is. He told me he got 6 million for it.

That seems low to me but it is a BROADSWORD base. ECW to me personally is much more desirable than say 4x with HCW but a broadsword has some limitations. Broadswords hit so hard though..

This is the Ice Age version of a Claidhmore in a OHE. The only reason the weighting wasn't much higher was that aiming made it reach crit heights
just like a claid. This was the highest weighting they would endow on a sword for a OHE. This is the claid for the one-hander.

I have two. Really, just coming back to the lands I need armor so much more that will let one go.

I'll start at 5 million and see if anyone wants one?

You might be looking at some extremely old weapons here. Not sure
which one is which, but one was obtained back in the GS3 days.

I am selling specifically to get crit padded double/full, possibly up to brig (permanent). If you have something like that and would like to trade,
please let me know! In game you can reach me at Headless/Slimeface/Snoobie/Oohz

I don't think your friend estimate is very off. Definitely a cool item !

Welcome back to the lands.

I've seen 0x fish spines sell for maybe 3-5mil tops, plus this above info doesn't sound right, I wasn't around in "ice" age but um...yea, a claid is +40 crit weighted, these are +15 or so. Still a nice weapon to have for any noob or beyond.

Wait...so ECW stands for Exceptionally Crit-Weighted? If so, the above post is accurate. I've never assessed one of these under the new crit-weighing tables. If it means Exceptional...that's nowhere near a claid. If it means expertly, it's pretty close.

These are not ICE age, though they are quite old - circa 1995. Because of the base, I never learned to like them.

Edit:

They were exceptionally crit weighted.

Hmm..ya '95 sounds right. I guess it's not 'Ice Age'. Someone told me they were at the time, I remember. Haha! I guess 5 mil sounds low to me, I might keep them for that but...never know.

The point I made is that WITH AMBUSHING the ECW = claidhmore weighting. The weapon rivals a claid as a naturally weighted OHE version. It was limited as a OHE for the specific adjunct of ambushing effectiveness but...whatever, not even sure I can 'prove' that. And ya, I think 15 is right.

Thanks for the welcome btw! Can you f-ing believe that at this point this is considered theraputic, to play the game? It's calming PTSD shit now. hahaha

I've seen these go for more than 6 million. Older players see the nostalgia in them. I would agree with the 95-96ish as when they came out as they had been out for a bit before I took my first hiatus from the game around 98. You don't see these come up too often these days. You could get more than 8 million if you made it a flat price and sat on it for a month or 2. At auction though, the right buyer might not come along in time.

You can determine exact weighting points using pcalc enchant and math.

Hm, I have a 1x one of these somewhere.

Probably in gay platinum.

Probably in gay platinum.

Nope, in prime. It was my original mainhand on my TWC rogue before AI switched to daggers. It cost way too many pps to take it to 1x, but at least now it is considered a magical weapon.

We all also realize this thread got bumped from 8/23/16 by a guy with two total posts and could easily be typical macguyver trolling?

Yes and we care very little.

Gelston-- that's cool. I'd really like the 1x boost. Probably won't spend points to get it. I've been asked several times privately to sell one or both but have decided to keep them part of it for nostaligia/antique value and the other for the ECW straight up! There's not a lot of ECW permanent anything, especially from an old off the rack weapon. I still consider these the 'one handed claid' GS came out with ever. Some people have told me they are too powerful and illegal for the game now! I spec'd one character to it and use it on the other one every hunt (the latter is the one who bought it in the first place, Oohz...character from the 90s). Oohz is only like 24, he was taken up here and there over the years since. Anyway, the weapons are absolutely great. I just like the description, the old school roleplay value, the weighting is f*(ing HARD hitting. It's really a great toy for the characters.
