So I did my research....Read a bunch of posts....Watched people eye crit the shit out of critters in-game. I pulled the trigger and used my fixskills to go from an ambushing sword (waraxe) and board to a sniping long bow user. I'm not in full blown panic mode, but I feel like there is something wrong. I'm getting owned by creatures I was doing fine against before my switch. Maybe it's my mediocre ranged gear? Did I hose up my training? Could somone take a look at my skills and see if I made a mistake?

Maybe it's my medicro ranged gear? I went from exploding heads with a fel-hafted vultite waraxe to playing a shitty game of lawn darts with a generic ruic longbow.

Your skills look fine. What are you hunting that's killing you? Are you using ebladed/faewood masterfletched arrows? Do you have your AIM set?

You can hunt the game all the way up. Look again at the towns and the creatures in your level range

Pyrothags are destroying me. I was able to dispatch them fairly easily with my waraxe, but I every time I fire an arrow at one, I miss completely. I am not using master fletched/ebladed arrows so that may be part of my problem. I have my aim set to an eye.

Well they are about 10 levels above you, maybe ranged has less forgiving uphunting mechanics.

But yeah, with improved arrows you can get up to the 10x limit pretty easily. +25 bow, +20 faewood/eblade arrows, +5 master fletched bonus and you're good to go.

Bro you don't arch in pyro. Arch was something for pussies who coded it into the game before it existed. They need to have their names encoded in their bow. Because they thought of bow in 1990.

Same with devils...I could destroy sand devils, now I'm having trouble with them as well. Maybe a move off the Island is in order?

You have to lure devils. That entrance where you just go SW or back to NE. You just try to backtrack and get 1 devil and learn to hit before the sandstorm. Keep luring it back.

Thats a fun area. Once you go over the footbridge or something, to the east, its less devils. Lizards and shoots. Firethorn shoots have instakill spikethorn.

That area is so effin cool though.

If I recall correctly pyros have no eye try aiming for the head or neck. Sand devils usually have shields which makes them a less than ideal target for ranged users. Maybe hit them with subdue or something first before attempting to shoot their eyeballs out.

Found a better bow and arrows....doing much better now. Just had to figure things out I suppose. Thanks all.
