So, I've played this game a while, started again. New graphical update coming soon, but it doesn't look bad either way.

Anyways, I've had an idea to create a fleet for RP purposes. You can actually create missions and put them into the game and this would be the way we do things. If anyone is interested, let me know. The game is free to play.

I've played this off and on over the years, the last time being when they introduced Romulans as a playable faction. I always get bored at cap, is the ground operations/combat still crap compared to spacefaring?

Ground sucks as always, but foundry is awesome. You can make your own missions for others to play... Was sorta thinking about making a "RP" guild based on doing missions members in the guild creates.

Foundry was crap last time I played. 90% of the "missions" were designed to just give you good loot. Just kill kill kill, end.

They've gotten some really good ones made, that you can discover in the foundry section of the forums. Even an entire series where you play as a mirror universe Terran Empire officer.

The ability for players to create missions was really the savior of STO. When the original developer went under and it got picked up, there wasn't anywhere near enough money left to finish what they initially wanted to do, so they instead made it so players could write the story. It's still one of the most innovative systems I've ever seen in an MMO. I'd be interested in picking this back up at some point if you're doing something fleet oriented. I always had fun in STO. It just got super grindy and super micro transactiony playing alone.

I loaded it up yesterday, whoahhh lots of different stuff since I played last, mostly with character skill builds. The problem with games like this is that its hard to find information out there up to date to the current state of the game.

I might be interested too though my time is very limited. Haven't even been able to play much GS lately.
