Any Users of Modafinil Here?

I've thought about getting a prescription for this drug for some time. I do very crazy scheduled shift work, which often involves dangerous tasks on potentially disrupted sleep. I know soldiers on deployment regularly make use of the drug, which also goes by Alertec, Modavigil, and Provigil. Any first or second-hand advice is welcome.

Normal shifts from 8-3ish, then typically back at 10PM until 12AM. During the height of studies it can get rougher than that. I get plenty of time to sleep, but sometimes i'm either too amped up or still groggy when I go in.
