View Full Version : Introducing new MHO: Hand of the Arkati

Hello Everyone;
Today, I got approved as the founder of the newest MHO: The Hand of the Arkati.
Mission Statement:
The Hand of the Arkati fills a widely identified gap of a capped presence across Elanthia. The Hand seeks to offer a society specifically dedicated to the hunting of the strongest foes available in a quick, efficient and effective manner. This organization will offer a venue to Capped Individuals to hunt collaboratively.
Membership Requirements:
In order to be eligible for membership, the individual must be level 100, demonstrate a general aptitude in abilities, be in good social standing with the community; The reputation of the members of this alliance is paramount to the success of the organization. Upon establishment of the event schedules, membership will only be awarded to participants after participation in a successful event in the MHO. If there is a failed event, the member may still be awarded membership if the failure was not due to the individual's performance and proper attitude was displayed.
... You're unimpressed. Why is this different than every other MHO out there?
Well, the focus of this MHO is specifically Capped Hunting. With the warcamping expeditions I led under House Paupers considered incredibly successful by the GMs with decent turnout, and with the upcoming release of Reim, I wanted to add an more formalized framework in place to support capped hunting.
... So, why join?
If you have absolutely no interest in group hunting, than I cannot offer anything overwhelmingly sufficient to overcome that disregard.
However, within the MHO structure, once enough time has elapsed, we will be capable of having prize closet items, which can contain minor enhancive jewelry. Nothing too special, but my vision is to utilize the MHO prize closet to reward members' participation in events. I plan on tracking the entire roster's attendance at every event. There will be absolutely 0 attendance requirements, only attendance incentives, and I will continue to try to push the prize structure to it's full capacity for our members. This is the closest thing to a WOW guild that Gemstone will support, but without the drama over specific drops/points/attendance requirements.
If group hunting sounds fun, if you want to put those side-by-side ranks to use, then this is for you.
... Why should I join now?
Joining our Roster day 1, means I count your attendance on the first event you attend... Per membership guidelines, after our event cadence is established, membership is earned via attendance, post-event, meaning you're basically attending your first event without getting credit for it. Anyone that joins now, you're a full fledged member now, even if you don't use it til we're all hunting Reim together.
How do you handle drops from X event? Silver splits? etc?
This is still being discussed and documented, and will be subject to learning a little more about specific event mechanics, and likely subjective to the type of event being run... I'm much less concerned with warcamp silver drops than Reim boss drops. But this will be documented for members to establish a baseline before the events, rather than getting with a random group of people, and one person walking with that +1000 Edged Weapons/Shield Use/Harness Power Enhancive with death flares and everyone else walking away with nothing.
How many events do I need to attend a Year/decade/etc?
None... but you won't get those shiney whatnots I'll eventually be able to distribute... and there's absolutely no way that you'd ever be having as much fun as our members attending events!
Let me know if you're interested... reply on this thread, send a chat in game, send a PM, etc.

So like the Drakes Vanguard but only for capped people. That's pretty cool. I've always thought organized group hunts are a blast. Gives me something to look forward to. Only 60 more levels to go.

Good luck Whirlin! Whilst Roh is capped, she's not one for "hunting" but if you ever want to collaborate on events with either Elanthian Elegance or House Sylvanfair, just let me know!

Try the Drakes Vanguard in landing. Svardin does a pretty good job, and I believe he runs higher groups and lower groups at different times.

Have the first events been scheduled yet?
Whirlin
07-14-2016, 01:36 PM
Not yet.
I'll probably be getting GM support at the end of the month for inclusion on the next calendar set. So if I submit an event request at the end of July, I can get something scheduled for September. I'm game to do additional, unscheduled stuff, but always best to have GMs aware of events ongoing to get credit/etc. Don't want to dishearten any potential participants by being unaware.

Oh suuuure. Level 100s only. You and your 1%, eating your fancy cheeses and drinking your Demon rum. Wait. Tangent.
There should be a level 100 only place, like Hearthstone, but for capped people. And the rum there should kill you. Is there already? If not, there should be. You can tell me if there is. Even if it's a secret. It's a secret level 100 only hideout isn't it? YOU RICH BASTARD. Anyway, back to my original rant.
You sit up there in your ivory tower and talk about hunting! We the 99% like to hunt too. We just don't crush our prey with gold plated rolls royces launched from a ruby encrusted catapult atop a skyscraper. Wait. Another tangent.
If you ever decide it's time for me to die, I want you to crush me with a gold plated rolls royce launched from a ruby encrusted catapult atop a skyscraper.
What was I complaining about again? Oh, yeah. BUY ME FANCY CHEESES.

Group Hunts will be on a rotating basis... But, Technically speaking, the HQ is in Icemule, to put it in close proximity to Reim. I don't anticipate ever using the HQ for anything though
Sure, I'll try it.
How do you handle drops from X event? Silver splits? etc?
I have made the mistake of offering to split up Necropolis loot from big groups before. Can be such a disaster...

Sure, I'll try it.
I have made the mistake of offering to split up Necropolis loot from big groups before. Can be such a disaster...
It'll depend on 'boss' mechanics... For something like the Necropolis, when each person can have their own spawn of the boss, they should get their own loot. But if it's a single boss for X people, a splitting mechanism should be established. Going a little blind into Reim, all I can do is try to account for multiple potential event structures, and establish it beforehand.

Good to be prepared for possible scenarios, but maybe better to just go through with one other person first and try to see what we're dealing with before doing a big group. I guess that could lose some of the magic, though? I dunno.

I likely won't be able to get in until 9:30 or 10. I'm not sure I quite understand how the instancing works. I know it's divided into level ranges, but are all the people in Reim in the same level range in the same instance together? Basically, would I be able to meet up with a group if I enter late?

Realistically, while gathering at 9 PM, we likely won't make a motion to enter until 9:30ish... potentially later, I'd love it to be earlier, but you know... reality.
Based on the input I've heard from Vyk and Hips, There are 4 instances for each level range. So there's a chance you could be in our instance, there's a chance you're not. Not that YOU really need it, but if you do show up on the tail end of all of our preparation, you may just not be able to get a full litany of spells.

Not a clue, worst case scenario, we'll find out!

4 level ranges, one instance each. Unless he's changed it from how it is for Plat.
It should also be noted that moving back a section (for example, from the courtyard to the road, or road to the village) lowers your "count" on finding a rare spawn. So you should avoid that if possible, only go forward, not back.

No worries, I have you listed on our roster as waiting to be inducted as soon as we see eachother online. Along with a couple others.
Henceforth, normal induction rules apply, and are eligible for induction post-successful event.
I'll get some Reim runs on the calendar... but that was an absolute blast. Somewhere in the 450-550 total kills range, everyone gained about 1k reputation, cleared 11 Rare critters, and walked away with approximately 200k silvers each after gem sales. No shiney treasures, but we absolutely DESTROYED that place. And we left with like, 40 minutes left on the clock

[Reim Castle, Royal Chambers]
Along one wall, a collection of brass trumpets hang from elegantly carved wooden racks, and piled neatly underneath, an assortment of metal bracers engraved with musical notes is displayed in a glass case. In one corner, a small table is laid out with cleaning supplies and various accessories necessary for the upkeep of musical instruments. You also see the Rolfard disk, a light grey green-eyed grantris, the fiery red Ragz disk, the Droit disk, the Middian disk, the Thaeren disk, the Morgahan disk, the fiery red Whirlin disk, a large black vulture that is flying around and a blue-eyed midnight black wolf.

Its true... but we have one now!
We're up to:
5 Wizards, Rangers
3 Empaths, Bards, Rogues, Clerics
1 Paladin, Rogue, Warrior, Monk, Sorcerer
Arguably, I never inducted Oceaniania from my other account... so I could more artificially inflate the numbers... but, 26 members is a good amount. Still have 6 others that just haven't been able to be around to be inducted, and 4 more that have been referenced that I still need to talk to.
After the blast we had in Reim the other day though... Hopefully we'll get some more interest.

Attendees: Whirlin, Oceaniania, Thaeren, Middian, Morgahan, Archales, Githros. Guest of Geijon
Gained about 1k rep per person
Silvers were less than the first run, each participant walked away with around 108k

Second enhancive jackblade was nothing special, and sold to pawnshop for endowment

I've had a few discussions with the other officers. We've determined our initial meeting schedule.
We will be gathering at the Small Park, in Wehnimer's Landing, Every Third Thursday of the month, at 9 PM EST.
Participating Hand of the Arkati Members will have the opportunity to discuss, vote, etc on where to go for that particular evening: Reim, Sanctum of Scales, and/or Warcamping. Of course, once we have a few meetings, we will do our best to vary the destinations to ensure that we're not always do the same thing. And for Prime members, if the Reim Entry tokens are physical items, I will be investing in some Simucoins to offer a way to enter Reim for simply silvers to make your lives easier. But of course, we don't know when the 'official' release will be.
I understand this time may not work for everyone... but we are going to start at 1 event a month, and we'll look towards increasing the frequency and adding to our schedule as time elapses.

We did warcamping last night. 8 individuals arrived, with two new inductees.
A quick clear of a 500 Orc Camp
And back-to-back clears of a ~250 giant followed by a tiny <50 Orc camp.
Quote of the evening was, "I don't think I've ever razed a warcamp while I was still Saturated from a previous Raze"
Also, with the release on Reim on Monday, we will be having another event on Thursday the 22nd, Gathering at ICEMULE, TOWN CENTER at 8:00 PM EST to clear Reim. More details to come about the Reim run as more details about the release become available on the officials.

Hand of the Arkati will be doing a run of Reim on Thursday night, for non-premium members of the Hand, I've purchased 10 Reim entries, which I can distribute for 150k each. 200k for non-members (Note: Membership is offered AFTER your first successful event with us). I'll look into bulk purchasing more of these things to reduce the cost further in the future... I just know that approximately 62% of our members are premium at the moment, and the premium folks have been more active in events, so I didn't want to invest too much of my own money ahead of time.

Tomorrow is the third Thursday of the month, which means another Hand of the Arkati Event.
We're going to continue running Reim. Per the calendar entry, I will head over to the Small Park in the Landing to pick people up, and we'll head over to Icemule and make our preparations there.
If you've been to Reim before, and can teleport, just let me know you're coming so we can plan accordingly.
For those individuals that are not premium, I have purchased some Reim Orbs to allow individuals to buy charges for silvers. I'm dropping the price on Orbs compared to my last post down to 150k for non-members, and 120k for Hand of the Arkati Members.
We have been running this event on a nightly basis since it's release. On average, we make about 130-150k in silvers per person per run from silvers/gems, which does not count individual drops from the bosses, which typically end up being an extra ~100k. While I cannot guarantee anything, historically, at those prices, you will make a return on investment on silvers alone. Additional benefits include being a part of a fucking awesome group, Ethereal Scrip, and Achievement progress.
In the event of excessive participation, we will split the group when fighting the boss, and regather afterwards.
As per usual, Hand of the Arkati invites will occur after the event!

These events have been a massive hit so far... so, I'm working with Elysani to get EVERY TUESDAY added as a capped event (this will likely be REIM until further notice) on the calendar. This is in addition to our normally scheduled Thursday events!
What does that mean?
I've been tracking attendance for all attendees for every officially scheduled event since this organization was formed. I know exactly who has come to what event, I know how many silvers richer they are because of the event, and of course, I know who has been to what events. This will all be awesome once we become a Tier 3 MHO, and we can start giving little attendance incentives!
Note: on average, individuals walk away with 125k from official Reim Events! High of 148k, low of 108k
More Opportunities to Join
Now that we're beyond the initial creation phase, the only way to join the Hand of the Arkati is following the participation in one of our events! This way, we can watch your every move throughout the entire event, constantly judging you, and verify that you're not going to be someone that's constantly dying like a Dayko and not going to bring down the organization through being a socially awkward IW.
I want to do Reim, but I'm not Premium
I've pre-purchased some Reim Entry orbs that I sell to members and non-members. The rates are a little cheaper for members (More Member Benefits!). Given that silver splits don't also include any emperor/empress drops, individuals who purchase orb entries walk away with a profit, unless they die, or our silver-bearer dies, or some other massive failure.
But I can't attend that event at that time! WAAAHHHH
And we probably can't attend at your ideal times! We'll look towards adding some more variety in the future... but we only formed on July 11th... We're not even Tier 2!
Can I see your spreadsheet of attendance/members/mothers' maiden names/favorite cookies?
Only if you're a member.

It's been 150 Days since the Hand of the Arkati has formed... and we have even more Analytics Available!
As of 11/14, I've started keeping track of Reim kills:
http://i.imgur.com/1prz6Tw.jpg
We're up to 51 official members, with a handful of people that come with us without committing to membership yet.
The graph of active members' professions hasn't changed much:
http://i.imgur.com/8H2HMsC.jpg
Of the above, 70.59% of Members are Premium
We've hosted a total of 13 Official Events
165 Total attendees the events... A majority of which (123) are repeat attendance from members (35 of 51 members have attended events... on average, if a member has attended any events, he/she ends up attending 4.7 events!)
This averages 12.7 participants per event... not bad!
If an individual attended all 13 Official events, that individual would have earned 1,908,336 Silvers.
Via hunting, the MHO has earned 26,254,095 silvers from OFFICIAL events alone. This is on top of our relatively tiny endowment, which is currently sitting at 1337k
As of 12/1/2016, I've also started tracking our Unofficial event attendance... These are just our nightly Reim runs that we do together.
Since starting to track, I've gathered documentation on 7 Unofficial events.
79 Total Attendees to the events, with 18 Members accounting for 56 of the 79 Attendance Counts
This averages 11.3 participants per event.
If an individual attended all 7 unofficial events this month, that individual would have earned 1,280,067 Silvers
Via hunting, the MHO has earned 14,761,712 Silvers from the Unofficial events, split among the participants.

January Writeup:
So, in the month of January we had two main objectives:
Be thoughtful in our roster expansions.
Increase Endowment Contribution.
While we saw an increased month over month in both marginal and absolute gains in membership, we also saw a dramatic increase in the number of guests at our official and unofficial events. We've moved past any concept of participation guaranteeing membership, and we're now in a position where we are being thoughtful with our offers in membership. Contributing factors include communication (via our Discord client is a huge help), general swiftness in objective completion (don't miss rares), aptitude, interest level in joining, and attitude. This does not mean that if you participated and we did not discuss membership that we have completely looked you over for membership, but generally those that express interest in joining are most likely to be evaluated for membership.
With being promoted to a Tier 2 MHO, we've also turned our attention to the endowment. Not only did we've manage to increase total silvers introduced into the economy month over month (driven by much higher participation), while also increasing contribution to our endowment substantially. The January endowment figures currently represent over half of our current endowment. It is perceived that continued economic growth will be peaking relatively soon though, as our most active participants seem to have dwindling quantity of major loot boosts remaining.
January also saw the introduction of Paid events with three runs of Night at the Academy being held as official Hand of the Arkati events. All successful runs, this helped our members get nice, shiny enhancives for dealing with invasions or other situations where the additional strength is warranted. Some members also took the profit route, obtaining some nice items to sell to fund the event, as well as potential future box office events.
Our Objectives for February will involve recruiting an additional Officer to help us fill a gap with officer presence west of the Dragonspine for recruitment/induction purposes, as well as expanding our scope of events. We were welcomed by the Crimson Legion in the last week to help defend Vaalor from Demons invasions, fitting into out scope of objectives of fighting the strongest of the strong. While we will stick our capped hunting mantra, we may occasionally toss something fun into the mix as we delve more into the MHO structure. (Note: Fun is subjective). If we do anticipate events that fall outside of our core objective of capped hunting, we will have multiple events within a day, so participants do not feel forced to attend an event that falls outside of their interest, or impedes upon his/her own personal RP style. With performing our first box office events in January, we may expand to other Box Office events in the coming months, pending reviewing prize lists and soliciting interest from members.

February Writeup:
In the month of February we had two main objectives:
Participate in Vaalor Storyline
Officer Expansion
Hand of the Arkati went all-in on the Ties that Bind Vaalorian storyline with Vindicto. While the relationship was rocky at first with a bunch of non-elfy defenders of Vaalor standing firm at the gates, even King Qalinor took note of how invaluable having an organized group of post-capped people can be beneficial to the defenses of the town, and thanked our organization personally. I think our most fun we had was when a bunch of us went from Illistim to Vaalor, defended there while Illistim was falling... Once things got quiet in Vaalor, we returned to Illistim, battled the invaders back from the keep to the gate, and then pushed them outside the gate to the intersection of Sylvarraend Road and Whistler's Pass, and ended the invasion by killing off a demon.
Our January efforts were around THOUGHTFUL expansion of our roster, and that has continued to ring true into this month. While we have had many, many guests (non-Hand of Arkati Members) participating in our events, we have been even more reserved in offering full membership. Given the size of the post-capped community, our isolated hours of official events being unavailable to some of the community, and general historical drama between members and non-members to the point where we don't feel like the non-member would be a good fit, I anticipate recruitment to be tapering off.
Endowment was not as much of a focus this month as it was January, and that was reflected in the amount of endowment produced at approximately 3m down from approximately 4m in January. This is also due to 5 normal Reim-silver-producing events being diverted to the Vaalorian storyline. Our current endowment at the time of writing this is at 9.75m, which is a very healthy budget for an MHO that's only 7 months old, especially when we consider that the only mechanism of endowment growth has been skimming silvers off of the top of events!
A new officer has not yet been selected for our officer ranks. Conversations have been ongoing among the current officers, and perspective candidates identified, we are simply monitoring the situation before expanding the roster. With the changes to the mechanics of TRADING, I have been taking Whirlin to Icemule to sell on our official Reim Farming runs evenings for selling responsibilities, and to also offer inductions west of the Dragonspine as required.
It is difficult to specify how much the trading nerf has directly influenced our organization. But we have seen some of the lowest silver productions out of Reim in the last month worth of events. In January, 8 of 27 Reim events resulting in under 200k silvers per participant payout, whereas in February, that was observed 20 of 29 times. While some of these instances can be attributed to quicker than normal clears, lack of farming, and a few instances of leaving prematurely to go to Vaalor, there is still a clear reduction in payout resulting from either loot reduction or trading potency changes. Looting strategies have not changed internally, we still dedicate a specific looter who utilizes major loot boosts, and a dedicated seller with trading trained.
Our Objectives for March remain unchanged:
Continue evaluating candidates for officership
Thoughtfully expand Roster where appropriate
Continue engaging with GMs on plot lines (Mazreth was amazing on communicating a schedule so we could prepare accordingly)
Consider more Box Office Events as interest permits

Continue evaluating candidates for officership
Thoughtfully expand Roster where appropriate
Continue engaging with GMs on plot lines (Mazreth was amazing on communicating a schedule so we could prepare accordingly)

We've accomplished quite a bit this month. March we promoted Nuadjha to a position of officership. Nuadjha was a founding member of the Hand of the Arkati, and while relatively recently became active in our Discord Server and events. He's proven incredibly adept in coming up with a flurry of membership insignia ideas, rallying members, and all around level headed and pragmatic with his approach to leadership. A much needed, welcome addition.
While we only officially inducted two new members in the last month, we have had a rally of new potential members that have been attending our unofficial events, and have just had hiccups in actually getting them into the organization. I believe I may have overstated our membership by 1 in the previous monthly report, as I do not have any records of any members that I removed. Or I simply forgot about them. Whoops.
During the month of March, we also were invited and celebrated in Ta'Vaalor in the celebration following the Vindicto storyline. During this wonderful Vaalorian Ceremony, many of our members were recognized for their efforts in the conflict, including Siierra, Arshwikk, and Treeva. However, during this event, I also learned that we cannot take this hunting group anywhere! I think between some members trying to sleep with royalty, flicking peanuts at the mirror, and arguing rank with bodyguards, we probably overstayed our welcome a bit much. But at least we left in style aboard the Falcon. Don't get me wrong... we all had a blast... just sorry to Mazreth for our shinanigans!
Post-Vaalorian storyline, we attempted to get involved with the Illistim storyline with the quakes, but were met with stronger racism and animosity against our organization compared to Vaalor. Our shinanigans were clearly not appreciated! Collectively, we agreed not to get as involved.
But we've been doing some more box office stuff. That's been a fun change of pace.
We have been seeing loot in Reim drying up substantially, starting around the second week in March. This is incredibly disheartening to all of our members. We were explicitly told that Reim was never meant to be considered a capped hunting ground, but was instead is a paid quest, and it would be reasonable to assume that paid quests would be outside of the realm of hunting pressure/etc due to the pay-per-entry barrier. Due to this silver dry-up, many members have voiced a reduced interest in purchasing/using additional Reim Entry orbs to accelerate scrip growth... as the source of the funds for the additional charges were coming from the Reim runs themselves! We are currently working with our members and officers to realign our events to ensure that we're not JUST a Reim group, but also engage in other aspects of the capped content.
Our Objectives for April are as follows:
Establish concrete guidance for membership tiers and benefits
Finalize and submit our design of our Insignia

Well well well... guess what organization got COMPLETELY SIDETRACKED with Duskruin? That's right... we did. However, in aggregation, Hand of the Arkati earned at least 2 million bloodscrip between all its members. Countless members leveraged the Arena to make some silvers, and many of us are walking away from Duskruin with new shineys, new modifications to project pieces, and probably at least a locker full of the various drama-armor, drama-weapons. As a result of Duskruin, however, events were relatively light this month.
As a tangent... I love this organization. A handful of us got together, and went in on a set of 8, 9, and 10x enchanting potions. Given the costs were so high, as they were 40 pours each, we split the potion costs 4 ways and started working instantly to gather scrip. When we saw prices start to increase, another HoA member gave us a loan to get the potions early before the prices rose any higher. No huge questions, no massive writeup, just trust within the organization to manage multiple millions of silvers without batting an eye.
On a side note... We have many people who are slated to become obtain membership status... we just got super side tracked with Duskruin...
It's a good thing we took the time in Duskruin to make some money, because the money out of Reim isn't cutting it anymore! Even with major loot boosts we've seen silver splits drop off dramatically! With this in mind, we're restructuring our events to deprioritize farming runs. Farming runs is when we would just sit inside the entrance, and people would keep popping orbs to get lots of scrip in a single evening. We historically walked away with a ton of silvers from doing this... Silvers which people would then re-invest into orbs, which they would then ask for more farming runs, etc, etc... So the loot reduction is cyclical leading to less orbs being used. As a result, we're now focusing on faster runs, and clearing the instance as quickly as possible.
Going forward in April, we have rescheduled our events to better reflect this change:
Tuesdays: Same as existing, entering at 8:30. However, we will begin progression and look to leave the first area at 8:45.
1st/3rd Thursday: Warcamping out of Illistim
2nd/4th Thursday: Warcamping out of Solhaven
2nd/4th Wednesday: Reim Farming
During April, we also anticipate taking a few nights to go onto the Test Server and test out the new Reim Defense that Retser threw together... We enjoy breaking the everythings that he makes.
As far as membership tiers are concerned, we have added a new "Veteran" member status. Veterans are individuals that have accumulated 100... event points? Official, calendar item events are worth 3 points. Nightly unofficial events and impromptu events are worth 1 point. As you can also see, we've introduced a new type of event: Impromptu events. These events are off-peak events containing of at least 5 Hand of Arkati members, advertised on Lnet/Discord, add 100k to the endowment, and must be led by a member of Veteran status. We saw a LOT of our members doing mid-day, or off-peak Reim runs, hunts in SOS, bounties, and all sorts of fun, social, Hand of Arkati events, but there was a lack of a mechanism in place for these people to get credit for benefiting the organization! So this structure was put in place so that our new Veterans can lead these events, get the credit they deserve, and help members that may have alternative playtimes feel like they are still contributing to the organization, and their contributions are being noted!
Our Craft Bazaar stockpiling is going well! Some items are as high as 30% of our target. Considering we're aiming to have max quantities of only the best goods for you all, that's a big achievement so far! With Duskruin being over, there is an increased push towards the stockpiling efforts. We'll have lots of great shineys for a lot of people come craft bazaar time!
Lastly... we're still finalizing the insignia design. We have a lot of good ideas that we're just weeding though!
Our Efforts for the month of May include the following:
Bazaar crafting!
Membership Recruitment
Testing the new Reim Tower Defense
Finalizing Insignia(s)

May Writeup:
Our Efforts for the month of May include the following:
Finalizing Insignia(s)
Bazaar crafting!
Membership Recruitment
Reim Tower Defense
Starting at the top, I am pleased to announce that our Hand of the Arkati insignias have been submitted for QA, and will hopefully be available for purchase shortly. Three designs were submitted to correlate to our three membership tiers, with different metals/accents based on the tier, but all spiritually similar. We have also submitted a request for an additional insignia for members that have achieved Butcher of Reim status.
Bazaar hoarding has been going quite well. We're on target to have a substantial amount of good products at the craft bazaar. Bring your silvers.
Membership Recruitment. Contrary to Recruitment numbers, we have been seeing some new blood at our events. As any veteran can tell you, there is a natural ebb and flow with Gemstone, and we have seen people's attendance dwindle, while new blood takes their place, and eventually they come back when time permits. For us to have kept numbers so consistent, and relatively trending up has been impressive. I do fully anticipate our upcoming months to have dwindled attendance due to school's summer vacations, kids being home, etc... because apparently we're all adults now or something.
Lastly, regarding Reim Fortress Defense, we have been running Reim Defense as an unofficial ad-hoc events this month. I believe 4/5 of the top scoreboard slots were held by Hand of the Arkati members, and 5/5 of the Reim Kill Counts held by Hand of the Arkati members. We have developed strategies for maximizing scrip during runs. Unfortunately, maximizing scrip earned for multiple people is not the same as clearing as many waves are you can in the instance. A group of us managed to cleared through wave 29 with a full group. During the month of June, we will be focusing on this during downtime and trying to schedule attempts to clear the Reim Fortress Defense instance (supposedly, beating wave 31 means you win).
For the Month of June, we have four main objectives.
First and foremost, we will complete our preparation for our Craft Bazaar!
Secondly, I am looking to work with the other officers to firm up our handling of a few of our less defined concepts:
-Blackballing Membership Applications
-Intra-membership Drama management
-General Member-nonmember Drama management
-Relationship declarations
Basically... an HR department... I'm establishing an HR department that people can go to for stuff.
Third, I will be putting together a group to clear RFD... because apparently all we do is break everything Retser loves.
Fourth, I will be working with GMs to plan something special for our one-year celebration. The Hand of the Arkati was founded on July 11th, 2016... Something will be happening on that evening during the Hand of the Arkati's active time.
So I have something to copy/past next month, our Objectives for June include:
-Craft Bazaar
-HR Department
-Clear Reim Fortress Defense
-One Year Celebration Plans

Attendee counts are up month over month, membership has increased month over month, even silvers are on an uptick, overall, success on all fronts. There's little more I can say. Things are running incredibly smoothly... Although, many of us ran out of Major Loot Boosts...
We've successfully created 773 items. Super competitively priced, but if they all sell, will bring in a total of approximately 33m. Took forever, and a lot of hard work from many of our members. A special shoutout to Tysong, Spenster, Ragz, Siierra, Treeva, Nuadjha, Arshwikk, and others for their efforts! I'll be advertising soon!
The HR department has been founded... and it was met with many lulz... but has also been used... Pretty much anytime more than 1 person is involved, there's drama. Seriously... so much drama.
Reim Fortress Defense fell off of our radar this month. We still fully intend to form a clearing party for this. However, we simply haven't been able to schedule it! Lots of conflicting schedules. So this will persist on our objectives for now.
A One Year Celebration is currently being arranged by one of our leaders. A rough draft of the event/raffle items have already been created/discussed... so now we just need to set a date and move forward! Of course, we'll advertise here.
For the month of July, we're focusing on our members on two fronts. First and foremost, while we've never had any attendance requirements on our members, we do have a handful of members that were inducted prior to our 'attend an event to be eligible for membership' rule. This was when the only events that we tracked were our official, calendar events. Nowadays, we are running events on a daily basis, and if there is sufficient interest during off-hours, any veteran is able to run an impromptu event where attendance is tracked. We have decided to circle back with individuals that have been long-time members, but never attended events, determine interest level, and curb our roster where necessary.
In conjunction, we will also be more forthcoming with membership offers. Guests that attend our events will be approached post-events and asked if there is interest in membership. Up until now, the Hand of the Arkati has never broached the subject of membership to guests. It was always up to the guests to inquire about membership before any action would be taken. This should lead to increased membership and higher event turnout. Who knows, maybe we'll even recruit something other than a wizard for once.
I will not remove members in excess of new members coming onboard. I will attempt to reach out to and discuss removal with each person before taking any action, and I will not force removal if the individual is in fact interested. I think that these two rules in conjunction should result in a stronger roster with more members having more attendance.
So, in summary, our objectives for July are as follows:
-Clear Reim Fortress Defense
-One year Anniversary Celebration
-Roster Cleaning
-Roster Expansion

Very impressive effort to get so many to actively participate in this process. Well done.
