a sighted dwarven yew crossbow

This beautiful weapon is carved from the finest yew. Its polished and sanded sheen shows the great care the owner possesses for it. Strips of glaes with reinforced grooves are deeply set into the wood, solidifying the remarkable craftsmanship. Softened kidskin leather is wrapped tightly around the grip while set into the base is a trio of large dragonfire rubies each marked with the sigil of a dwarven assassin. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

+17 heavy crossbow

what does sighting do?

Is it like crit weighting?

Sorry, but I quit the GSIII before the bow era began -- I am just starting to care enough to ask.

Sighting for sure adds to your aiming skill, there is some debate as to if it adds crit weighting but it's MUCH harder to test it in GS4. Given that there are such a thing as crit weighted arrows my gut feeling is that it doesn't add crit weighting.
