Also sent a little cash to help out.

Been talking to people:

1) He has used the same SM-G935V (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?102635-Selling-offun-the-R-I-P-Fusion-Full-unlocked-Xday-items-etc&p=1860273#post1860273)
2) Fromer had done business with him before. I used the e-mail address that Fromer used in his previous transaction to send some cash to him. The verification prompt I received from Paypal contained his phone number (strangely) which did reconcile to the phone number provided in the first post.
3) I texted with him SUPER BRIEFLY, and he did verify that he had received money from a couple people, and will be attempting to pay people off in a first-come-first-serve basis.

Although, strangely... transaction posted to Amy Grey, but texting he said the phone number was correlated to Barbara Brown. (Paypal prompts for first/last for phone # transfers)... I think I just sleuthed out some of the underlying reasons for the problems inadvertently

Here's my TL;DR / bestguestimate :

GTG claims (via Tapatalk) he needs cash to stay alive. Clarifies that he needs to see a counselor to keep his job....so probably not literally "life or death" as the subject might have implied. Nice people send money; Whirlin's fact-checking reveals there are two different female names "associated" with the paypal account.....surmises that face may have something to do with said counselor.

Three hours later, GTG comes back (not on Tapatalk) and says that his brother (or - friend?) can't wait 15 minutes for him to activate a card (presumably a PayPal debit card to use the funds which kind people have sent) and leaves. This makes him miss his appointment.....so this brother must have also been a ride to the appointment? Says "one moment" [in spanish], hasn't posted since. This was 22 hours ago.

Did GTG make his appointment? Is he alive? Inquiring minds want to know!!

That being said....GTG seems like good GS people, so if I can throw money to help the problem go away I'll chip in too.

SashaFierce

I don't think it's necessary to air his dirty laundry. From what I know, it doesn't have anything to do with women, and his brother lives half way across the US.

The only thing I'll say is that money is most likely not going to help in this situation, so it's probably best to avoid any further donations.

His brother is trying to help him.

This is GTG's brother, many of you knew me as Draithe and Kratcheck before that. I don't want to go into details in a public forum, but he's far from not being helped by his family. We are intimately, painfully, aware of the situation and have been working with this for years.

To those that sent him money, that was extremely kind and thoughtful thing to do but I'd implore you to reach out to me in private so I can repay and explain the situation in more detail.

I definitely won't say he's ok, but it is a problem that money won't fix and know that his family is indeed trying very hard to get him to a better place.

It's possible that too many poppy seed bagels can cause you to test positive for opiates on a drug screen. While previously running a substance abuse program in Arizona we admitted a client who's mother and grandmother drug tested him, and he tested positive for opiates. He insisted he didn't use drugs, but that the reason he was isolating was because of video games. They didn't believe him and he spent 4 months in treatment. After 4 months, mom and grandmom each ate 2 poppy bagels and took the same drug test they gave him. Mom and grandmom also tested positive. Oops.

It's rare but bad drug tests can show false positives for poppy bagels.

That's what i interpreted from his message.

Yeah, those cheap ass tests will pop positive for breathing in fumes. The ones major companies and the military and stuff use has a bit higher criteria. Heck, they won't even pop you on prescription drugs unless you are abusing them.

Eh, depends on the testing method. Hair test and I'd be screwed. Piss test is easy to beat though, every time. I saw an E7 get busted for coke, he was coming up on 20 years too, moron. Busted down to an E1.

Back when my older brother was in the Army, around 94', seems they were pretty lax about that shit. CID busted him for weed possession but nothing really came out of it as they were more concerned about who was selling weed to the battalion. Turns out it was the battalion commander!

We used piss, but we also knew about those ways people try to "beat" them. If your piss was too diluted or had weird stuff in it, you were retested until it wasn't. We also had people staring at your dick while you peed. Those pills or whatever you drink that are supposed to clean your piss will leave a sign in your pee. Whether you pop or not, your room will get searched after that and if it is found you'll be hit for drug paraphernalia. Someone got busted trying to use a bladder with a tube once. Another time, one of the other Battalion's SACOs sold clean piss. He got busted when tons of bottles of piss fell through the ceiling, along with money.

I only saw one time where a guy popped and wasn't booted. He was a Sgt and got busted to Cpl, but he drove for the Base CG so he wasn't kicked out because the General is the one that signs the papers. He popped a second time, busted to LCpl... This time he was kicked out. His wife was a Staff Sergeant.

And WB, it isn't so much that it changes based on Branch, it changes based on location. There isn't a national center everyone sends piss to to get checked out, they have closer places.

Yeah.....used to be a joke in the Navy that you needed a DUI to make Chief [E-7].

As an officer a DUI would pretty much kill your career, but there are rare exceptions. Kids can get one and still bounce back if it's early enough in their career.
