So I got a nice little holiday speeding ticket on Wednesday driving from San Antonio to Houston. 83 in a 65.
Not 5 seconds after I pulled off the shoulder, the cop was pulling someone else over. I think he was just meeting a quota or something that night. EVERYONE speeds on I-10. That bastard.
So. Anyone else gotten a ticket lately?

Yeah, I got one on Monday for going 50 in a 25. It's not a residential zone with kids running around, but a hill that goes STRAIGHT down through the woods. It's impossible to stay at 25 without slamming on your brake.......
It's $165 and 5 points (possibly 4) on my license. I sent the ticket back and pleaded not guilty. Hopefully the cop won't show up and I'll get nothing, or they will do what the courts normally do and offer to take the points off. I could careless about the money, I just don't feel like going to some "careful driving class" if I happened to get pulled over for something stupid.

Hey Drew, was he giving you a ticket for speeding, or for flaming in a no flame zone?

Heh, I speed all the time. I've been pulled 20+ times and gotten one ticket. The key is to be nice, admit to what you were doing, and apologize.
You know if you're speeding, so if you do it, you're choosing to accept the consequences if you get caught. It's hardly anyone else's fault.

I speed, but I live in MA, so speeding is just keeping up with traffic.

Edit to add: I also found out that when pulled over, acting stupid is your best bet.

You're right, I've done that as well. I got pulled over going 48 in a 30, and I was really nice and said I thought the speed limit was 40 MPH. Still speeding, but no ticket for me.
I also have a friend who got pulled over on the 210 in SoCal for going too SLOW. It's just as dangerous as speeding.

admit to what you were doing
This doesnt always work. Case in point when i was around 17 i had two 17 year old friends in my car and the one in the backseat had beer and i had a pipe and a bag under my leg in the front seat. I pull a uturn at the wrong spot. Basically i just wanted to be going the other way so when the light turned green for both sides i just gunned it and did a uturn in front of the other cars and there was a no uturn sign(i was stupid yes). So lucky as i am, a cop was there and he pulled me over. So i find my license and insurance and he comes up to the window. He asks if i saw the no uturn sign and i said yes. He got pretty mad even that i said yes and was barking at me asking me why and what not. I agree with Arkans playing stupid works much better, at least if you're male.

The correct response in that case would have been "No sir, I didn't see it. I'm sorry though. That was pretty dangerous, I guess."
Or something.

I'd like to see week-by-week pictures of the progress, please. That'd be some great entertainment.

P.S. For growing and cultivating tips for those man-boobs, maybe Klaive can help.
I don't bother with begging, ignorance, or anything else. I just ask them to give me a warning. I've been pulled over 13 times, once well pickled, and I've two speeding tickets to show for it.

If I ever get a ticket for speeding I'm gonna do what someone I know did. She had a packet of monistat 7 (spelling) on her dashboard and just told the cop she had thrush and was rushing home to apply the medicine and get into her PJs. The cop was like, "OK just be careful not to speed, I'll let you off for a warning this time."
ROFLMAO Yay for Thrush!

I got a ticket not too long ago for not stopping completely at a stop sign. I slowed down but then went instead of stopping. It was the Friday after election.
My brother got a speeding ticket Wednesday for doing 57 in a 40.

I've been pulled over twice, two tickets. I guess the cops got no love for me.

My first time getting pulled over I got a speeding ticket for going 5 miles over the limit on the last day of the month. Had to pay over a hundred bucks for court supervision so I didn't get any points on my license and this was my FIRST FUCKING TICKET!! Sucked.
Hopefully the cop doesn't show if you plead not guilty. While sitting in court I overheard the guy in front of me telling his girlfriend he was going to get out of the ticket by lying about what happened and the judge believed him. That cop looked so shit faced.

Wow, that's nice. The guy lies about it and the cop was trying to do his job.
I don't understand this animosity towards traffic cops. They just have a job to do. You choose to speed, you choose to deal with the shit you get dealt if you get caught (which is probably not that often in comparison to how much you actually speed).
I'd be willing to bet there are people on this board, parents especially, who would LOVE to see some asshole speeding through their neighborhood get pulled over and get slapped with a fat ticket.

THIS IS A TOTAL FUCKING LIE. I got pulled over for doing 75 in a 55. I looked HOT and I had on a low-cut blouse. I was even TEARING UP for Christ's sake. Still got a ticket.
The ONLY time I've gotten away from a ticket (From the seven or so times I've been pulled over) was because I admitted to what I did wrong and apologized.

I got two speeding tickets in June. One for going 96 in a 65 MPH zone somewhere in Ohio. Then a couple of days later in Oklahoma for doing 70 in a 55 MPH zone. No points, but the tickets were $130 each.

Heh, I speed all the time (not proud, just stupid) once got kind of stopped on my way to a party, I'm 99% sure my low cut top and smile got me off getting a ticket. Got caught on a speed camera once but luckily it was one of the fake ones so no ticket.
I pretty much know where the police hang out waiting for people who are speeding since my friends dad is a policeman and she gave me the info. I will always drive slowly through residential or school areas but other than that, there is no way Im sticking to 70mph on an empty motorway.

Jonty, you most likely didnt get points because once you are out of your own state they cant give you points, only a fine. I got one heading down to senior week(was running a bit late and didnt want to miss any of the fun) and got busted doing 70 in a 50 area but only got a fine.

I got yoinked the other day for 55 in a 25. Got it knocked down to 5 - 10 over. No points and $50. :D

That or the cop was nice. A lot of times cops will pull you over for speeding, and give you a citation. You get the fine, but they let you go on points.
If a get a ticket with points, I plead not guilty go to court.... if it's just the money I pay it.
I, knock on wood, have only been pulled over for speeding once. But at the same time I was pulled over for not having my headlights on. But really it was just a cop out policing for high/drunk drivers and after a lecture let me go.
I find the best way to get out of a ticket is to treat the cop with some respect. Out of the 3 times I've been pulled over (failure to stop at a stop sign, making an illegal right turn, and the speeding/headlights listed above) I've gotten 1 ticket. And I'm fairly sure I only got the 1 ticket because the cop was pissed to be working on thanksgiving.

I haven't gotten a speeding ticket for about 7 years, thank God! I use to be a speed demon and prolly got 5 speeding tickets the first year I got my license. Recently got pulled over a couple months ago for speeding and I was sloshed too. The cop looked at me and asked where I was going, I said home cos I was tired and he said, "Just try to go a bit slower." Bwahahaha. Was going 50 in a 35 MPH zone. I just hope I don't jinx myself for saying I haven't gotten a speeding ticket yet. That would suck.

My friend and ex roomie (left for the navy, fuckin wank) got pulled over while we were driving back home from Portland. I almost got into an argument with the cop, because he said my friend was doing 110mph...
In a Ford Aspire? With 2 people in it? Like fuck! Thats impossible. An Aspire (if you don't know) is about 10lbs short of being a fuckin hot wheel!
We fought it in court, and won. Heh.

"making an illegal right turn"
.
That's fucking bullshit. About 6 years ago I got a warning for taking an illegal left turn at a stop sign. I didn't even see it, but apparently there was "no left turn between 4:00 and 6:00 PM". Ridiculous.

I've gotten pulled over twice, and have two tickets to show for it. The first was for going 72 in a 50, which sucked because I didn't know the area and I was clocked going downhill towards the cop. The second was for going 67 in a 45. Yes, both are for going 22 over, 23 is reckless, they cost 225 and 210 respectively.
Tickets suck:thumbsdown:
.......Am I the only one who has lost his lisence b/c of speeding? Racked up 24 points when you can only have 15, cost $725(220 reinstatement fee, 80 class, 425 last ticket I got) and an 8 hour long BS driving safety class to get them back. But, now I am back to 0 points WOOHOO

I've gotten two tickets before, and both times the cops dropped it down to going 9 mph over the limit (even though they were both about 20 over). Neither of them were over $50.
Of course, when I went to SC a couple months ago, we got a ticket going down and a ticket coming back. Both were over $200, but they got no points on their license. I still think it was a conspiracy against out of state drivers!
A real criminal gets a dissordly conduct ticket for mooning old ladies... The best quote from the ticket "Kurt Sievert verbaly accosted "Miss West" and exposed his bare buttocks to her" Also said something about "breaching the peace" I'm gonna frame the ticket and hang it on my wall...
