I went onto one of those freelancing websites and had a portrait commissioned. I provided him with my character's text description (half-krol), the show on the battle axe, and the requisite reference webpages and artwork. This is what he came up with. Not bad for $40 all in.
This is the long on the axe that I provided to the artist: The two symmetrical blades of this axe expand outward like a pair of dragon's wings in flight, each extending dramatically in two massive rounded crescents. Each blade appears jagged, but upon closer examination each jagged edge is further serrated in sinister fashion. The blades join together into a center wrought like dragons body...
