Ideally looking for a 4x+ ice flaring THW that's made of wood. Flail, maul etc... no runestaffs.
Would also consider any enchantable flail/maul made of a wood that has a non-negative natural enchant bonus (ironwood etc...)

You may need to go get a one made with the material of wood from the Arms shop, get it enchanted to 4x (or whatever you want) and then get flares added to it.

Could one be forged up? I've never tried working with wood, but if yer gonna build it, the forging bonus wouldn't hurt.

One question.
Why? Doesn't wood have like a negative?

Can't speak for the original poster, but I've read that wood weapons are useful for the elemental confluence, to avoid shocks from the lightning elementals. I assumed that was what it was for.

Oh. So just use shit material weapons. Yeah, great. That 7x ultimate weapon that you've been working for years on, getting spun like once a month and such? Yeah, fuck that. Use wood.

You can buy one from the NPC arms shop in Landing, select material wood for whatever twohander they have there. I used to make wooden rapiers there all the time. Never had anything done other than for jokes though.

If you choose wood as your material from Tykel's, you can only enchant them up to 3x with a mirtokh potion. I assume it's a quirk of the -20 natural enchant. It counts as a minor project, but requires the potion for a major project. If you choose modwir as your material you can get them to 4x with common potions, so I've been using a modwir twohanded sword for a while. But for aesthetics, I wouldn't mind getting a weapon that would actually plausibly be made of wood, such as a flail or maul.
And yes, the application is the Confluence. Cold-flaring wooden weapon would be ideal, since it would allow hunting the hot plane without swapping weapons back and forth.

At EG '06 (http://drfuturepast.com/GSIV/lists/eg06list.htm) (ctrl+f for ironwood/first result), they sold ironwood sledgehammers that were 4x and had lightning flares. You could possibly find one of these and get the flares removed and have it worked on.
Drew, AKA Chiv, has a +18 blessable ironwood maul in his shop (https://ps.lichproject.org/items?f=B_B&s=%22a+heavy+cord-bound+ironwood+sledgehammer%22). He came back within the last year asking about the value on some of his stuff. Don't know if he stuck around, but you could possibly try to track him down.
There are numerous wooden quarterstaves out there, but they hit like a wet noodle. There are also at least two old acid flaring 4x claidhmores (no weighting) out there that inspect as wood, and oddly enough, as claidhmores instead of two handed swords. I had both of them at one point and tried to have the flares removed, but was never able to. The plan was to get them stripped, enchant them up to 7x and use them as a blessable for a claid swinging warrior. That never came to fruition 5 years ago when I tried, but if you could find them now, it might be able to happen.
The only other thing I can think of is that a lot of the old stone weapons from back in the day inspect as wood. Again, in Chivs shop there is a granite mattock, for example. It's a long shot, but a collector might have one.

You could try to find a large black ash mattock. +18 and damage weighted (30pts), made of wood.
It's not a maul nor a flail, but mattock is a good weapon type.
Wood is inferior; Obsidian for life -
You deftly remove the obsidian greatsword from your scabbard.

Long and lustrous, the obsidian blade is a rippled landscape of overlapping conchoidal fractures. Its irregular periphery bears a smoky translucence, where the volcanic glass has been knapped so thin as to form the finest of cutting edges. The root of a massive antler, dark-grained and glossy with handling, has been affixed as a hilt, with curling tines of bone lashed into prepared grooves by dense coils of bronze wire. Heatless violet flames burn across the greatsword. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the greatsword.
Thanks to MrMortimer, this bad boy is a whole 3x and a T1. I have no idea how obsidian performs in the confluence but I imagine awesomely. Because Obsidian.
Sorry, had to show it off. Love this thing.
