I don't remember the actual description, but it's the old Duskruin stuff. Heroic mithril breastplate or some such.

7m flat.

Will consider a trade of the 5x DCP double leathers if you will throw in 2m or so too.

What makes the mbp worth 2m more than the double leather? They have the exact same properties.

ASG type. Mbp is in the plate category. Doubles are soft leather. The properties are different.

I'll buy this stuff.

The properties may be different but mbp is just as useless to somebody who wears leather as double leather is to somebody who wears plate. But I digress.

Plate armors are more uncommon, and therefore more expensive than leather counterparts. Has always been that way.

No, the use makes them more expensive. There are 3 classes that use full plate regularly. 6x HCW full plate costs the same as 6x HCP full leather, cause a lot use full leather. 6x HCP studded leather will be cheaper cause it is seldom used, even though it is far more rare.

Ultimately, I have no idea what the answer is, other than to say "that's how it's always been." Both theories sound reasonable.

The reason I valued the doubles less is because I have seen sellers asking a maximum of 4m for them recently, while the brig and augmented chain have been sold with asking prices of 6-8m. This is between LNet and PC here, although I figure that's mostly the same armors being sold both places by the same sellers.

I went off of what I perceived the market to be, not some intrinsic value of the armors themselves.

Just going off of what I've seen, that doesn't seem necessarily true. If you average the price of all the 4x full leathers on player shops and average the price of all the 4x full plate on player shops (leaving out the most expensive piece for both so as not to skew the results), the average price for 4x plate is double the average price of 4x full leather, suggesting plate armor is inherently valued higher.

Rarity and demand makes expense. Use or not. In this game or not.

Doubles with these properties are a dime a dozen. MBP isn't.

I agree with what everyone has said. It seems that supply and demand are just being described in different ways.

Playershops are a bad place to gauge price points since almost everything in playershops seems to be priced well above actual market. The PC is a more accurate gauge and how I came up with my estimate on the difference between high end full leather and plate. The argument that 'plate is better than full' holds no water because the answer is obvious just going by the base.

Well definitely not arguing which is better. They serve different purposes for different people. In the case of PC, I would say normally yes, but in this case it was 14 sets of fulls and 20+ sets of plate, so I thought that was a pretty good representation.
