I was wondering if there's any benefit to getting both Shield bashes ( from Cman and Shield pts)? Thanks for any help on this!
I should also ask here, if you cannot stack benefits from both Shield Bashes, which one do Paladins usually take (Cman version or Shield training version)?
No benefit for training in both methods of shield bash.

Shield use version, as the points are somewhat limited and less costly than what CMAN can provide..meaning, more strategic placement of points via CMAN allowing you to mix and match shield points

Yup, go with whatever you have room for.
I know some players actually start by using CMAN points for it and then switch to SHIELD down the line, since early SHIELD skills are apparently more useful than early CMAN skills? I dunno. I've never done it but someone was talking about it on lnet recently.

Got it! Thank you all for your help. I was pretty sure they didn't stack, but wanted to make sure. I also switched shield bash over to Shield pts.
Here's another question. If we have shield bash, do we need to put points into the Cman ability, Feint? Do we need both?

Use cman points for sbash and scharge. Shield points are far more valuable. Lot of useful passive shield skills and just doesn't seem to be enough points to go around. Also, shield trample and mastery are amazing. But I am speaking as a warrior and not a paladin, so it may be different for you. I have access to wtricks for feint, after all.

Thanks for that reply, Vorpodu. It seems every build I see for Paladin uses Shield points for Sbash. I'm just confused as to why people like Feint when it seems to me shield bash can do what feint does, plus more. I'm hoping someone experienced with these two abilities can explain the decision to have both.. because as you said, spoints are needed for other things. :)

At the end of the day, you will have far more shield points than cman points for most of your paladin's life. Keep that in mind.
Feint is a critical cman. It puts the target in RT and lowers stance. It's the ultimate defence against casters and creatures with lethal maneuvers. It's really your only way to deal with turtling creatures.

Thank you for explaining that, time4fun. I didn't realize it put critters in RT too, very nice. I have to say as a Paladin I do have a lot of spare shield points to use and I'm still very young.
I'm sure I'll be posting a lot more questions here because I am really enjoying my Paladin.
