I tried this a month or two ago and had some small success. I currently have $326.51 in my steam account that I need to get rid of to keep selling hats.
I buy a game or DLC off of steam and gift it to your steam account and you give me some silvers. exchange rate is 1 million silvers for $9 in steam games. I cover the change.

You can only have about $400 in your steam wallet at any one time. I've got an inventory of Dota 2 items that can go anywhere from $10-100 each. So as I sell them I keep bumping up against my hard cap of $400.
TF2, Dota, CS:GO, the player tradable items are generally called "hats" since the market first started with highly valued Hats that would drop in TF2.
