In raw performance, then, we're looking at a card that will be at least 30 percent faster than the GTX Titan X, and it'll be priced at $600. Even the GTX 1070, which will cost $380, is expected to exceed the performance of the Titan X in most workloads. Nvidia takes things a step further by claiming the GTX 1080 will beat two GTX 980 cards running in SLI. Ho. Lee. Crap. How was this done?

Ridiculous power for the price. Anyone thinking about upgrading? I'm going to stick with my 980ti for a while yet. I don't have a 4k TV/Monitor.

probably going to rebuild this summer with SLI 1080 and either a single or dual 4k w/ 1 or 2 additional 1080's around them. Depends on much I feel like pissing away during the summer months.

Nvidia is out for blood I think. Gonna need to pick up one of those 1080's then.

The only information we have is based on manufacturer press releases. Wait for an actual benchmark before getting excited.

Graphics cards have founder's editions now too? wtf.

They realized they can get more money, so why not.

Soon, other companies will start doing it.

"Pre-order the new Ford F150 2017 and get the 'Founders Edition' for 1000 more"

"Buy the founders edition of the new flavor of Doritos and get to eat them 1 week before everyone else! only 10 extra dollars per bag!"

Is that why I love my first kid more? Because they were like the founders addition of children? My second little monster is definitely sitting coach

"Founder's Edition" doesn't mean what it normally does in this sense. It's a reference card that Nvidia's partners haven't fucked around with, basically stock. They have been around for years.

God dammit, Taernath. You're ruining everything with your facts and logic. No one wants to hear that shit.

Dammit.. stop it. I want to imagine that my founders edition has a few more gigs of ram, or glows blue when plugged in, or maybe shoots lasers at AMD products.

It gives you a founders title in the MMORPG called Real Life.

Fuck that game, it has shit graphics, unreasonable physics, and when you die you can't start over. It sucks, and I hate it.

Gotta wait for the aftermarket for that. Of course, better-than-stock cooling and directed energy weapons can potentially add a lot to the cost of a card. There's a $200 difference between a low end and high end 980 ti.

You're right, it is. Someone needs to hack that game and shut it down.

I have just a reg 980 right now, was looking at the titan X as an upgrade this summer, looks like I will be better off with a 1080.

Right now? Just one 28 inch at 1920x1200.

Before I upgrade the card, I planned to do at least 2 monitors, 1 4k and one about the same as this. One for games, and the other for chrome/aim etc etc.

Still haven't purchased a game that my GTX 470 couldn't handle on high to ultra settings...Maybe someone will make a next gen engine game that doesn't suck, and I'll have an excuse to buy one of these *coughmasseffect4cough*
