So my work is hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the union employees and we've had a turkey roasting in the front office all day for the second shift....the smell is freaking killing me it smells so good. I even had this huge lunch but it didn't satisfy my appetite because it wasn't turkey. :(
What does your work do for the employees to celebrate Thanksgiving?

We get the day off (it's one of the 3 days we close a year). That's about it.

We host a full meal where all employees get an hour paid lunch. We're handing out day passes to Sam's plus $20 Sam's Cards, and a Christmas ornament with our company logo on them.
We already have employees complaining. YAY!

We don't do anything special. I get to work but 12 hours of holiday pay isn't something I'm going to complain over.
I'm going to stay home, eat turkey until I explode, drink too much red wine, and pass out after a day of festivities!
Also, my family is all seperated so I'm going of like a traveller this holiday. I get multiple Thanksigiving dinners!

We get to do house searches and traffic control points at 3 in the morning.

I get Thanksgiving off. I have to work the day after and Saturday. The only upside is that working Friday is double time and a half. Cha-ching!
On Thanksgiving we're driving to Massachusetts to have dinner with my "other" family. It should be fun, just a shame that it has to be crammed into a one-day trip.
Christmas will be better. We're flying down to Miami for a week. Woohoo! Nothing like palm tree Xmases! :D

Well...I wanted turkey so bad last night that I stuck around until 7:00 PM to have some. It was well worth the wait! It helped that I just came back from vacation and had a lot of catching up to do so I didn't complain about the workload one bit. Turkey was my incentive.
Today, they are having another celebration for 1st shift at 10:30 AM. Plus, there are turkey leftovers from last night to munch on while we wait.
I took Wednesday off so I could go buy everything I need to cook dinner for my parents and my cousin and her family. The menu is quite extensive too: Turkey & stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, ham, veggies, cranberries, candied yams, sushi, croissant rolls, apple and pumpkin pies.
Work gives us Friday off as well, so I'm looking forward to a nice 5 day weekend!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

I get Thanksgiving off, however, I have to be at work at 5 AM on Friday. This really sucks, because I KNOW I'm going to pass out during a football game and want to stay up all night.

I'm off Thursday and Friday. Going over friends for T-day and then a party on Friday. Should be a good, quiet weekend.

Busy few days.
My girl and I switch off the holidays - one year we'll do thanksgiving at her mom's and xmas at my grandparents - the next year we'll swap.
Thursday - Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's - get call from Granddad saying that he misses us at their house (guilt)
Friday - She has to work - I'm driving 3 hours to see my dad for his Birthday (Friday). Probably driving back up either Friday night or Saturday Morning because...
Saturday - her Mom's birthday & Celebrating Thanksgiving w/ them
Sunday - sleep
Luckily Xmas involves having it with my dad & siblings the weekend before, having it with my mom's parents the night before, having it with my girl's family the morning of, heading over to my grandparents in the afternoon of, and finally visiting mom that evening.
Divorce just doesn't help when trying to hit a shitload of houses. But on the plus side - more presents.

My husband and I will be having Thanksgiving just the 2 of us this year. My parents are still in Germany, his are in Houston, and my daughter is with her dad this year.
Sooooo.. a small butterball turkey breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, and my delectable pumpkin cream cheese pie.
Then, probably going to a movie.
