Back in the days when accountants used M (the Roman numeral) to denote thousands, MM denoted millions (or a thousand thousands.) Of course nowadays k = thousands so m has been absconded to become millions except by old school finance people.
Incidentally, M is still used as "thousand" for advertising metrics. CPM is "cost per mille" - the price to show an ad 1000 times.

MCP brig + ranger resist + redux is nuts. Great set for a rogue or combat heavy ranger.

This is really interesting, thanks for explaining. Its sort of unfortunate that on these forums "M" can either denote thousand and "m" can denote million. I can handle it, but gol dangit!
