Come with your ideas or suggestions about collaborative events that you'd like to hold during the week! Not a member of a CHE or MHO but interested in fashion? Doesn't matter! You're still very welcome to contribute or just listen :)

So now we've had the meeting, it's time to go public! Some of you may have noticed teaser posts in the Roleplaying: Elanthian Fashion folder on the officials over the last few weeks that culminated in a round-table discussion last weekend where it was announced that Elanthian Elegance plan to host a week-long event in August.

Elanthian Fashion Week will start on the evening of Saturday 6th August, with a champagne reception, and run until Sunday 14st August, when it will close with a cocktail party. The aim is to hold as many fashion-themed events during the week as we can, in various locations across Elanthia. Think of this as a chance to show-off your creative talents and share your love of fashion with other like-minded players! A lot of fantastic ideas were discussed at the meeting and a number of CHEs and MHOs have already expressed an interest in participating, so I'd now like to give everyone a chance to send me their event proposals, with dates and times where possible - they don't have to be organised through a CHE or MHO. Please try and avoid the afternoon of Saturday 13th August though, as this is when we will be holding the Fashion Showcase in the Ebonstone Manor where everyone will get a chance to sashay down the runway and model their own creations for the judges.

Please can you send your ideas to elanthianelegance5115@gmail.com by the end of the month so we can start to pull together a programme of events. If you would prefer not to do this OOC, then I am more than happy to receive IC letters by email, by hand in-game, posted on the boards or feel free to stop and chat with Rohese anytime - but be warned, she's very excited about this. Once the programme begins to take shape, we can take a look at how best to publicise the events. I'm more than happy to help with calendar announcements, criers and NEWS items etc.

I look forward to hearing your ideas and let's hope this is the first of many successful fashion weeks to come!

ELANTHIAN ELEGANCE SPONSORS FASHION WEEK 5116

Feastday, the 6th day of Phoenatos (August 6th, 2016) will see the launch of Elanthia's first Fashion Week with a formal reception at 6.00pm in the majestic setting of Ta'Illistim's Museum Alerreth. Expect the champagne to flow freely and the conversation to be convivial so please dress accordingly. There will also be a chance to win one of two special cases of Prestige Champagne (courtesy of Poiret and Company) in a raffle to be drawn that evening.

Restday is likely to be anything but restful! The day will start in Wehnimer's Landing at 11.00am with a guest speaker at the Rone Academy giving a lecture on design techniques followed at 1.00pm by a discussion about fashion trends in the elegant surroundings of Elaraeyn's Boutique. Refreshments will be provided as we are expecting a special guest. At 4.00pm, House Sylvanfair will be offering the opportunity to purchase a limited number of bags containing assorted jewelry at bargain prices. Be sure to get to the Grove early to grab them while you can! Sylvanfair will also be rounding off the day with a few rounds of the popular game: Greedy Gremlins. Gather at 6.00pm for some fashion-themed fun, refreshments and the chance to win some special prizes.

On Volnes, the 8th day of Phoenatos (August 8th) at 3.00pm, The Looking Glass will be opening the doors of their investor's shop for a 5-day shoe sale. The shop is located in the eastern section of the Mzaarine Bazaar in Ta'Illistim. Each day will see the launch of a new collection of masterfully hand-crafted footwear, as well as a bargain bin with vastly reduced prices. Meanwhile, across the Dragonspine Mountains, at 9.00pm that same evening, the Blackhand Trading Company will be leading a discussion in the Frontier Town of Wehnimer's Landing on "dangerous looking" garments and wares. Not all is as it seems in fashion as will be demonstrated by a raffle prize of a corset (courtesy of the Vanishing Point clothing line).

The following day, on the 9th day of Phoenatos (August 9th) at 9.00pm, the Gypsy Troupe will be gathering in Faeliythe's Fashions, in the port of Solhaven, to chat about fashion and the nomadic lifestyle. Continuing the programme of informal and informative discussions, Elanthian Elegance will be hosting tea in the Landing Baker's Shop at 4.00pm, on Leyan the 10th day of Phoenatos (August 10th). Partake of refreshments and learn more about the art of adornment with nail polish and henna. There will also be the chance to win a bottle of polish or henna stick to take away and a basket filled with teatime goodies for two.

Do you own a plain or boring item that could use a new lease of life? Bring it to the White Haven Courtyard in Icemule Trace at 8.00pm on Niiman, the 11th day of Phoenatos (August, 11th) and have it trimmed or adorned with gemstones, shells or skins - free of charge! Later that evening, at 10.00pm, the Lorekeepers in Silverwood Manor will be looking forward to hearing your fashionable hat ideas; don't be afraid to be outrageously fabulous when it comes to designing headgear!

As the week draws to a close the fun really starts! On the Day of the Huntress, we are very excited to announce the return of the Nalea Brawl in the Helden Hall Fighting Pits. That's right - women fighting for a Nalea. Literally! We do request that all participants - and hopefully spectators - don their formal wear for the event. Armor will be allowed but women wearing gowns while brawling will be more entertaining. Participation sheets will be available at various events throughout the week, with a final chance to sign-up at 8.00pm on the day. Brawling will start promptly at 8.15pm. As an added bonus, not only will the Master of Ceremonies remain shirtless but there will also be the chance to win an elegant gentleman's outfit (courtesy of the Yansio and Treysen clothing lines).

We're not finished yet! The main event of the week will be a Fashion Showcase at 3.00pm on Feastday, the 13th day of Phoenatos (August 13th) in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom, where everyone will have the opportunity to show off their creative talents on the catwalk. The choice of themes for this year's Fashion Week are Saewehna Jungle, Military Precision, Time Travel and Frivolous Florals. Each entry will be judged according to how well it's presented on the runway and the interpretation of the chosen theme. There will be three prize categories of equal standing: one for the Most Creative, one for the Most Fashionable in terms of following latest trends, and the prestigious Chalat Award for the Most Noteworthy. Sign-up sheets will be available on the day so come dressed ready and be prepared to put your best foot forward on the catwalk.

If you're not interested in participating then why not come along for the chance to win a raffle prize, to support your friends or to merely witness the spectacle! The fashionable fun in the Ballroom will culminate in a grand Masked Ball at 10.00pm with prizes for the best mask and best presentation of the year's themes.

Restday, the 14th day of Phoenatos (August 14th) will see the festivities draw to a close but not before having the chance to win prizes again by showing off your modelling skills. Fashion Week is not just about dressing to impress; it's also about what NOT to wear. At 3.00pm in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom, House of the Arcane Masters will be hosting Fashion Faux Pas and Feral Finds: a fun fashion show with a difference where you will be given a mystery bag from which to put together an outfit and present it on the runway. Fashion disasters notwithstanding, there will be the chance to win not only a fabulous hat (courtesy of the Veola millinery line) but also one of Ianthra's rare metallic gowns.

At 6.00pm that evening, Elanthian Elegance will be hosting a cocktail party in the elegant surroundings of Lily Manor's Museum of Fashion History to review the week's events: reminisce about the runway scene, discuss next season's trends, and enter the final raffle for a chance to win a special pin to hide those less-fashionable enhancive accessories. Throughout the week, you can also expect to see cobbling wares for sale at Willow Hall in the Landing, a stand selling fashionable merchandise on the town's North Ring Road, and new shoes added daily to the shop in Ta'Illistim's Mzaarine Bazaar. Listen out for announcements of raffles, services and events!

It’s almost here! Fashion Week 5116 kicks off at 6.00pm tomorrow evening with a Champagne Reception in the Costumery chamber of Ta’Illistim’s Museum Alerreth. Join Elanthia’s erudite for champagne, conversation and the dulcet tones of the Lady Luxelle Machtes who will be delighting us all with her musical talents.

This is a formal occasion so please try to dress accordingly i.e. avoid blood-stained armor or weaponry and definitely no pet rodents! Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t forget to enter the raffle for the chance to win one of two special cases of champagne.

The raffle will be set up around noon on Saturday at the Museum (lich # 608) and will draw during the reception. Go door, go steps, east on the lower platform, and through the polished copper arch to reach the Costumery.

The raffle has been set up in the Ticketing chamber (#608, go building) and will draw at 7pm EST for two winners.

One wall of the building is entirely glass, each pane placed into a framework of oxidized copper. The doorway set into the wall is wide and slightly arched, part of a triad of equally spaced openings hung beneath a giant verdigris medallion. Beyond the half-moon shaped chamber, a flight of three steps leads into the open expanse of the museum. You also see a lace-draped raffle table dyed in an ombre of cobalt and emerald with some stuff on it.

After the glitz and glamor of the champagne reception in Ta’Illistim, Fashion Week will be heading west to Wehnimer’s Landing. The fun kicks off tomorrow at 11.00am with coffee, cake, and a lecture on the do’s and don’ts of alteration work, to be delivered by a guest speaker from Elanthian Elegance. This will be held in the Landing Hall, Auditorium (lich # 385, go door, west, go oak door). Please note that this will be an IC discussion on how to tackle alters with hints and tips on making the most of your time with a merchant. All OOC questions should be kept to group whispers wherever possible.

At 1.00pm, there will be an informal discussion about trends in the elegant surroundings of the refurbished Atelier in Elaraeyn's Boutique (lich # 24595). Refreshments will again be provided and we are expecting a special guest so come prepared with something that’s tired or outdated and hopefully leave with something fashionable!

At 4.00pm, House Sylvanfair will be offering the opportunity to purchase a limited number of bags containing assorted jewelry, at the bargain price of only 10,000 silvers. Be sure to get to the Sylvanfair Grove (lich # 8753, go west) early to grab them while you can as it will be first come, first served!

House Sylvanfair will then be rounding off the day with a few rounds of their popular game, Greedy Gremlins. Gather at 6.00pm in the Grove again (lich # 8753, go west) for some fashion-themed fun, more refreshments and the chance to win some special prizes.

Shoes, shoes and more shoes! The Looking Glass will be opening the doors of their sponsor’s shop in the Ta’Illistim, Mzaarine Bazaar (lich # 731, go cottage). The launch event at 3.00pm will unveil the first collection of hand-crafted footwear featuring the theme of Saewehna Jungle. There will also be two sets of jungle themed outfits for sale so come early to avoid disappointment.

At 9.00pm, the Blackhand Trading Co. will be leading a discussion on “dangerous looking” garments and wares and modelling the latest trends in Femme Fatale! Look for a black canvas tent on the North Ring Road (lich # 287) and don’t forget to enter their raffle for a fully customised Vanishing Point corset. Tickets are on sale now for 50,000 silvers and the draw will take place at approximately 10.15pm.

A raffle has also been set up in the Lily Manor Courtyard (lich # 3758, go gate) for an altered Sylinar's Spire pin. The item - a miniature clockface with exposed brass cogs and gears - will be awarded to one winner who MUST be present at time of drawing in order to receive their prize. You can’t have too many shoes! The third collection of hand-crafted footwear featuring the theme of Military Precision will be available in the Ta’Illistim shop (lich # 731, go cottage), along with two new military-themed outfits. Check out the room at the back for clearance items too; everyone loves a bargain bin!

If you don’t want to buy new shoes then why not make your own! Two carts selling cobbling supplies have been set up; one in the Willow Hall, Companion Park (lich # 19332) and the other in the Sylvanfair Grove (lich # 8753, go west). With the silvers you save, you could always treat yourself to a new outfit, the merchandise stand on the North Ring Road (lich # 287) has a selection of fashionable items for sale.

The ladies of Elanthian Elegance and House Sylvanfair will be brewing tea at 4.00pm in the well-appointed Baker’s Shop, Tea Room (lich #317). Why not stop by for a cup of tea and discuss the complexities of henna work and application of nail polish. You might even leave with a sample! A new raffle has also been set up outside for a basket of teatime goodies. Tickets are 25,000 silvers each and it will draw during tea.

Rules

You may be self-spelled without additional buffs from crystals, statues, scrolls, imbeds.

Any form of combat is allowed, EXCEPT for AoEs.

The fight is considered over when:

All but one competitor has been killed.
One competitor is left standing in the pit.
Two minutes of fighting have elapsed. If we have a stalemate, we’ll allow the ladies 30 seconds to either heal themselves via herbs (or if they’re an empath, self-heal) or tend their own wounds before we go into Barbie Brawl OT.


We're going to break down the ladies into 5 separate groups of:

Levels 10-20
Levels 21-40
Levels 41-60
Levels 61-80
Levels 81-100


This will depend on the number of sign-ups and breakdown of levels, so please be aware the groupings may change on the night.

The official winner from each group will enter the final free-for-all for the coveted Nalea gown. Prizes will be awarded to all participants as well as the winners from each group, so no one goes home empty-handed.

Pre-registration will begin an hour before the event officially starts!


Will add No Invisibilty, Sandstorm, Insect Swarm, or Carn's Cry (for possible pit breakage or for following and re-killing target (for real this time) outside the arena

Rise and shine fashionistas! It’s time to get your sashay on and strut your stuff on the catwalk at the Fashion Showcase. The doors to the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom* will open at 3.00pm for registration or to grab a good seat for the show.

Your entry will be judged on presentation (how well you present your outfit on the runway through verb use etc.) and interpretation of the theme. As a reminder, the choice of themes for this year’s Showcase are Saewehna Jungle, Frivolous Florals, Military Precision and Time Travel. Whilst there is no time limit – we don’t want to stifle your creativity – we do ask that you aim for maximum impact in as short a time as possible please; leave the audience wanting more!

There will be three prize categories awarded but, contrary to earlier announcements, there has been a slight change to their configuration – exciting news to follow on the day.

Come and support your friends and family who are participating, or just come for the spectacle, but be sure to bring silvers as there will be raffles!

Following the Showcase, at 10.00pm, it’s time to dress up again as House of Paupers invite you to dance the night away at their Masked Ball. Prizes will be awarded for attendees best showing this year's themes, and for the best mask.

At 3.00pm, they are hosting a fashion show of their own in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom* with mystery bags of garments. Contestants will have 15 minutes to put together a “striking” outfit and entertain everyone with a presentation on the runway.

Again you are invited to come and support your friends, or just come for the fun, but be sure to bring silvers, there will be more raffles: a fabulous Veola creation and an Ianthra metallic gown.
