Here are a couple clips of an 8th train paladin swinging with 1608 on a sancted morning star:
xxxxxx swings a crusader's morningstar at a spotted lynx!
AS: +124 vs DS: +51 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +94 = +201
... and hits for 41 points of damage!
Right hand mangled horribly.
The spotted lynx is stunned!
** xxxxxx's crusader's morningstar pulses with a burst of plasma energy! **
... 20 points of damage!
Intense arc of energy flays the spotted lynx's arm to the bone!
The spotted lynx crumples to the ground and dies.
xxxxxx swings a crusader's morningstar at a spotted lynx!
AS: +132 vs DS: +41 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +26 = +151
... and hits for 28 points of damage!
Smash to the kneecap.
** xxxxxx's crusader's morningstar pulses with a burst of plasma energy! **
... 50 points of damage!
The spotted lynx is sliced open neatly by brilliant beam of plasma!
The spotted lynx crumples to the ground and dies.

Can we switch current Clerics to Paladins? Haven't kept up on how they're introducing this profession.

Not yet.
Do the plasma flares happen every swing?

does it work on arrows? weighted weapons? weapons with other flares?

Read the spell description!
It works on sancted non weighted non flaring weapons.. i dont think it'd work on arrows unless it's sancted arrows (if that's even possible?) And no, they dont happen every swing, from what i saw it was about every 5-10.
what makes plasma flares so desireable anyway?
i thought flares were flares, some worked better against certain critters, although you can expect 1 - 70 damage(max) from a flaring blade..
even with the resulting crit wound, I don't see much difference between the common flares..

The reason they were so looked forward to is because you can put flares on sancted weapons, so a 6x sancted weapon can now become a 6x plasma flaring sancted weapon with a cast of 1608.

Uh, you read it:
Type: Utility
A Paladin may channel her spiritual energy into a holy weapon, adding plasma criticals, to cause it to flare up against a foe. Guiding Light may even be cast upon magical sanctified weapons if the caster's Paladin Spell ranks + Spiritual Lore, Blessing ranks = 15 or greater. The plasma criticals will flare on any type of creature, but only for Paladins and Clerics who wield the holy weapon.
A dedication to Paladin spell training will increase the number of swings +1 for every Paladin spell rank over 8 to a maximum of 25 additional swings (75 total swings).
Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings increases the bonus further, adding a +1 for every rank.
---
It works on non-magical sancted weapons. Magical sancted weapons if you have paladin spells + blessing ranks 15 or over.
Nowhere does it mention weighting, arrows or other flares, that's why I asked.

But never have you been able to add an enhancement to a weapon already enhanced(ie. flares+weighting, weighting+flares). Sanctified isn't a weapon enhancement, just an ability with class requirements.
