It's about that time again and I'm getting itchy already! Shaft, are you still going to be commish this year?

Is anyone interested in a keeper league? We have a lot of the same people playing each year. I was thinking a 3 keeper league.

I've never done a keeper and wouldn't be opposed to it. I am worried that there are a few teams each year that are different players. So 8-10 teams would be the same but then you'd have another few teams that are just up in the air year-to-year. Seems like it might be a headache.

if an owner splits all of their players get thrown in the pool to be drafted.

A good keeper system is you can only keep a player for 3 years. For the following season, say you draft Jordan Matthews in the 5th round, if you want to keep him he's going to cost a 4th round. So you lose your 4th the following year by keeping Matthews.

We can have a system where we must keep 3 or we can choose to keep 0-3 players. It adds a bit to the league. This league is a bit vanilla at the moment. I'd also like to add a 3rd WR slot or a 2nd flex.

I like the idea of having a while to build a team. So many injuries take someone midseason and the next year your draft position changes and you have no shot at getting them back.

Also, if you guys haven't played in a dynasty before I thoroughly recommend it. Changes everything. Drafting a guy like Todd gurley or Antonio brown and being able to keep them forever is a lot of fun. Plus you can draft in April.

Imagine you draft a rookie in the 11th round this year and he turns out to be an absolute stud. In a keeper you'd get to have him for the next year. You wouldn't want that?

Even if we only did 1 or 2 keepers I'd be cool with it. Let's switch up the format a bit.

I vote to keep kickers......adding more flex players turns into "play the best X players on your team regardless of position," and it turns the draft into a pure "best available" grab, removing position planning and strategy from the game.

I'd like to play keepers, but Ardwen makes a good point....I wouldn't want to inherit someone's shithouse. I still vote yes though.

I'm considering a switch to myfantasyleague.com. $60 yearly costs compared to $160. Plus I can have a graphics guy come in a customize the site and the team banners. I just can't see the point in sticking with cbs and paying $160 a year.

It makes sense. They have a fairly solid app as well.

If we wanted to do a theme, we could do something like marvel vs dc, horror movies, the 80's...

A GS theme would be tough due to the lack of imagery.

Forget about the K, DST, and QB. They're pointless. That's 7 skill position players. That's a pretty common 12 team setup. Probably the most common out there at the moment.

Adding a 2nd flex would help make sure you're not leaving points on the bench. Tons more flexibility. I actually like 3 flex's, but I'd be happy with 2.

Well, again, all more flex spots will do is force you to play your top X players, regardless of position. Takes all the strategy out of it, both drafting and week-to-week.
