It means people get a bit suspicious when something goes from last chance to a bid from an account with zero other posts or history. Sort of like the last minute private bidder conundrum. They may assume it is the seller trying to pump up the price. That would generally be my assumption, anyway.

Sorry to be the cause of drama this morning. As I stated in my post, I am more of a lurker on the PC. Especially when it comes to sales in the millions of silvers. Until recently, I never had more than 5 mil in my account (averaging around 1 mil) and no ability to compete in the auctions. After a few sales of 50 slip Duskruin booklets, I acquired enough silvers to try and get a few treats for my characters. When I tried to actually log in to the PC, I found that my old membership info was gone. The email from my original registration confirmation is dated 6-16-2002, from buckweet. But that was for the Gemstone III Player's Corner... oops, no wonder the login info had been lost.
I really wanted those handwraps. I finally had enough silvers to bid. I don't have enough to continue bidding.

That's what I thought was being stated. He can take his salty ass out of my thread ain't nobody got time for that. Have nothing to do with that guy and have done plenty of business in the past with no issues, always someone trying to shit on your name or troll your thread now a days...sad really

I would hardly call it trolling when a bidder in your thread complains about something that is pretty commonly considered fishy. If anything, your reaction makes me more concerned.

All the sudden I'm fishy because he didn't win at that bid, children please make sure neither of you bid on my items ever again. Don't want you to feel cheated.

I screenshot my inbox whenever a private bid arrives. Just in case anyone wants to know for certain. Defeats the purpose a bit but I'd rather people didn't start crying foul over nothing.

Oh, worry not. There is certainly no danger of me bidding on this item or any item you sell at this point.
By the by, you are getting heat for acting like a shitty seller. Something along the lines of "My cool stuff must bring out the lurkers" would have made sense. This instant blame the messenger and tell everyone to shut up and GTFO routine just makes you look like a dick trying to scam people out of coins.

I have no idea if you are a scamming piece of garbage. I am fairly sure I have couched all of my comments in how what is happening appears. I claim no clairvoyant knowledge. However, if you are not one, you are doing a fantastic job of impersonating one.

Yes, you are shady as fuck Maximus. That 1 poster, shady as fuck too. His responses? Shady as fuck. Also weird.

You might as well sell it now because you are certainly getting no more bids. Although at this rate you are going to miss Sunday and then what's the fucking point? Idiot.

No worries you don't want my shit and I will never want yours let's leave it at that shall we.

I am going to try and give you the benefit of the doubt here. I was saying that a 1 post poster coming in after a long "going for the last time" thread and tossing in a bid is considered fishy in general. I did not suggest that it is something you have done in the past. I would not have said anything at all, except for your affronted response to what I considered a pretty obvious comment by one of the bidders to that effect.
Maybe you should take a moment to compose yourself and read this thread from the mindset of a neutral observer. Ask yourself how your actions would appear.

Well to be fair it looks like the bids were a little over 48 hours apart. I tend to update my auctions only once a day. Then again he did say sold by the next morning if no further bids, that's partly why I never give a cut off time like that, it ends when I say I ends!!!111
I'm always a bit leery about new posters as well though.
ETA: I just noticed the "sold by tomorrow morning post" and the new bid happened on the same day, I thought they were over 24 hours apart.
You gotta admit Maximus, that does look a little bit suspicious. Not saying you're scamming people, just stating what it looks like.

Maybe before going public with a accusation get some fucking PROOF first before trying to tear down someone's good name. My reaction matched the absurdity of the accusation. I have been playing since 96 on AOL never once have I had this issue. To me he just looks salty for not getting it for that price so what gives him the right to tear me down? WHERE IS HIS PROOF?

I'd also be happy to purchase those handwraps for 8 mil so I can attempt to punch a Stone Troll to dust with them...

Look this isn't going to turn into a flame thread and this will be the last I speak of it as I all really care about is selling the handwraps. Just to point out he wasn't even the highest bidder so you would of been outbid anyway if not by the 1 post bidder. You are free to think whatever you want and I am free to defend myself however I choose. One thing for certain is neither one of you are welcome to bid on my items ever again. As long as we have an accord nothing more needs to be said, really. Anything you have to say from this point on will be ignored. Yes you were wrong so you can try and twist words to make it look like I did something. In the end you are still wrong and that is good enough for me.
