According to my bank, Simu is a high risk vendor for fraud.

I got a kick out of that.

I do know they had a Russian based criminal organization hijack a bunch of customer CC info a while back. The customer phone person that used to work there was telling me about it.

Did your bank go into details?

Hmm...my credit card information was stolen shortly after I reopened my GS accounts...

They couldn't elaborate.

Probably has to do with their retro website and the way they handle their customer information via email.

I'm willing to bet they are not up to standards for internet CC transactions. I spent a couple years sub-contracting roll outs for companies like Younkers, JCPenny, etc. doing network security updates, going by how SIMU bills....I find it highly unlikely they are up to standards....they don't even ask for the CC security code. Yikes.

Reminds me of the days you could make an AOL account with nothing more than a valid credit card prefix.

There was a dude a few years back who used to do this with his Simu account. Ratolin. Finally got found out and last I heard from him, he said he is only allowed to create an account by doing the fax thing and paying 6 months advance.

Lol, what a moron. From burning people's houses down to DMX barking at the internet....and BALLS OF STEEL, to credit card fraud.

Man does that bring back memories.

Longer than four years ago is the best I can do for you. The guy who was telling me about it was the phone dude that left about a year or so ago, making Chris the only phone rep. Was his name Kris as well, he was a great guy, I do know that.

He'd basically put in a fake CC #, which would open his account because they don't charge it immediately. Then as long as he didn't log out he could stay in the game forever. When he did eventually get booted or whatever, he'd repeat the process. Quite a few nice items went down with that account.

Was 14.95/month really breaking his bank account or is he the type of person who just never pays for anything?

No idea. He was always kind of a scummy dude. I'm pretty sure he could have afforded it, but he'd rather just "fight the system man!" because reasons.

Wow. Why does GS attract so many human oddities? Even funnier for me was seeing Ismurri being the first to comment......it reminded me that I'm kinda fucked up too. lol
