Speaking from a strictly mechanic sense, which do you fellas think is better? I'm not so picky about the RP aspect. It seems that they're made for Voln but a CoL Ivas worshipper would be fun to RP. Any idea if a diety affects any of our spells?

When I glanced over the spell descriptions, none said that they were affected by diety. They can use sanctified weapons, so that makes voln somewhat less of a pain in the ass. Symbol of preservation, return, and need will still be useful, as they don't duplicate any paladin spells. COL, however, has the AS/DS signs, which are pretty damn useful themselves, especially since paladins get almost no DS boosting spells.

paladins will get 130 but it'll be a long time coming

I can't imagine role-playing the stereotypical paladin as a server of the evil forces known as the Council of Light. That's just my humble opinion regarding the matter though. Have fun with it.

Ahh. You forget. Darth Vader.

There is much precedent for the Unholy Knights.

But you have to remember that going into COL, it's not readily evident to a character that COL is trying to corrupt them to evilness. Even though there are warnings along the way and chances to back out, everything is phrased so that a somewhat gullible person would find no reason to suspect that the end result would be the loss of their soul. I have a sorceress in COL and she felt very betrayed and hurt when she realized that she'd been pwned by the dark side. Perhaps a paladin who'd been so deceived could rp trying to do heroic deeds in order to redeem his honor and self-respect?

You know... of all the religions, I think a Paladin of Ivas would be the most interesting...

A paladin of Tilamaire, Kuon, Voaris, Laethe, or Jaston would be...interesting...too.

At which point they would resign.

I had a good joke on the official boards involving the five paladins for the Evil Trees quest, Captain Planet and a paladin of Voaris, but it's really not worth setting it all up to repeat it.
