There should be a scripting test before people are allowed to script. Not that this guy was necessarily scripting, but just as a general rule.

Agree. How hard is it to make a failure match statement?

I'm not a super scripter, and even I can do that.

After speaking with him, and what was said OOC... it honestly looks like he held down the enter key on his 10-key pad (which repeats last command) or it got stuck.

I would hate to think that he's scripting such a delecate task as picking, especially in such a public place.
