Are you a noob? Do you often find yourself putting your ultimate 10x claidhmore of DOOM inside a backpack on the ground instead of in your own backpack?

Well never fear because ;dont-lose-it has you covered! Just add all items you don't want to lose to the script's database and it will inform you if an item is missing from your inventory, AUTOMATICALLY!!

Watch it in action!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7mkaHU2QGI

Script will even track multiple items missing and which room you were in the last time the script saw the item.

[dont-lose-it: 'a black and purple orase runestaff' NOT FOUND! LAST ROOM YOU WERE IN WHEN I SAW IT WAS: 3626]
[dont-lose-it: If you want me to stop tracking this item type: item remove a black and purple orase runestaff]
[dont-lose-it: 'a hooded black silk stalking cloak' NOT FOUND! LAST ROOM YOU WERE IN WHEN I SAW IT WAS: 3408]
[dont-lose-it: If you want me to stop tracking this item type: item remove a hooded black silk stalking cloak]

As soon as you find a missing item the script will stop telling you it's missing but will keep telling you of other items missing, if there are others that is.

Here are the commands to use while the script is running:

To add an item to the list of items to track hold item in your right hand and type: item add
To remove an item from your list of items to track type (as an example): item remove a blue falchion
To remove ALL items from your list of items to track type: item reset all
To see which items you are currently tracking type: item list all

Type item help to bring up the above help menu while script is running.

The only current limitation of the script is it has no way of seeing items inside of closed containers so if you put a tracked item inside a container you are wearing then close said container then the script will assume it's missing and inform you of it. When I'm feeling less lazy I will probably make it so the script can see when you put stuff inside of your containers and won't bug you about it. Until then though...

Script also has failsafes:

If you try to use the PUT verb on a tracked item without using "IN MY <container name>" then the script will cancel your PUT command and remind you to use "IN MY" to stow it.

If trying to DROP a tracked item the script will cancel the command and won't let you drop the tracked item. If you really want to DROP a tracked item either remove it from the list of items to track or kill the script.

The DROP and PUT fail safes also works when using DROP/PUT right or DROP/PUT left.

DISCLAIMER: ALTHOUGH I HAVE TESTED THIS SCRIPT AS MUCH AS I CAN I MAKE NO GUARANTEES IT WILL WORK 100% OF THE TIME. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU LOSING ITEMS.

Yeah I can't get it to go full screen here on PC either but if you view the video on YouTube you can go full screen there.

I thought it was just me. Maybe there is an option on YouTube I missed.

I got my repo password situation handled (you rock Tillmen) so this script is now up on the repo.

So it's a reactive alert and not a proactive alert?

So it's a reactive alert and not a proactive alert?

Correct. The script performs a check every two seconds that is totally invisible to you and alerts you when there is a problem.

As far as being proactive, you mean like if you're about to drop an item or put an item in a container that's not on your person the script will stop you from doing so? I suppose I could look into updating the script with such a feature as well. Like if you type "drop blue falchion" the script will say "No dork" and cancel the action, or if you just type "put falchion in backpack" the script will scream "You didn't use MY!" and cancel the action.

Is that sort of what you were talking about?

Yeah, it's nice to know exactly when something is missing, but I'd prefer it not go missing in the first place.

....maybe he can write a script to stop you from even thinking about putting stuff away in the first place...

I uploaded a new version of the script with some fail safes built in.

If you try to use the PUT verb on a tracked item without the magic words "IN MY <container name>" the script will cancel your PUT command and remind you to use the magic words.

If you try to DROP a tracked item the script will cancel the DROP command and inform you it did so. This also works when doing DROP right or DROP left.

There might be some instances where the script is overly cautious. For example if you have a "light blue falchion" being tracked and you try to drop a different item named just "blue falchion" then the script would probably prevent this from happening. But that seems like a rare occurrence and like I said this means the script errs on the side of caution. If this happens just kill the script first then drop the item.

I have an easy script for this. "stow all"

Another quick update to the script already.

Using "put right" or "put left" also triggers the aforementioned fail safe if you attempt to PUT RIGHT/LEFT on a tracked item without using the magic words.

Oh yeah, I also changed the inventory scanning frequency from every 2 seconds to every 5 seconds. This should still alert you fast enough if you accidentally misplace an item somewhere.

Hey pal, I've never lost an item ever from putting it in the wrong container. I don't know how you people do it. I guess I'm just better than you all.

Don't worry dogman, I assume this tells me when I get disarmed, I don't always notice that until it's too late.

It does, assuming of course you add your weapon to the tracking database.

I heard luxelle lost her grobey shield because she typed "put shield" instead of "push shield" which dropped the shield onto the ground.
