With the Army's permission, we have decided to make the following modifications to what he wears....

You know how those pinworn items can get boring? Dressing em up a bit!

Nothing wrong with a promotion.

Is that Sgt. 1st Class? I mostly see Air Force people, but a few Army guys.

Yup! The only thing bad about it is that we are loosing our chance of reassignment to Alaska. They don't have a slot there for an SFC :(

Congrats to your hubby on the promotion! Maybe something will open up in Alaska before too long, or maybe something will be available someplace else you'd like to live! Anyhow, a promotion is a Very Good Thing.

Congrats.

I would look into rotation plans to Iraq when making my choice of next duty assignment.

Alaska is another OCONUS assignment so even if there was a slot it might be hard to accomplish.

You forgot something, the fabric rank for his BDU's so he does not have to remember to pin those damdable things on every day.

Thankyou everyone :)

I gave him blood rank on E6, so he's not letting me pin him this time.... or so he says.

(for you civi types--> blood rank= During promotion, the new rank pin is attached to their collar either by a Superior or a spouse. Blood rank is when you leave off the backs and after you put it on .... well.... think about it :D )

If you can't remember to wear the rank then you don't deserve to wear the rank

I should be getting my spec 4 at graduation. here I will only have a nice drill or 1st sergeant to pin me. How did you manage to get a 2 star to mark you?

I go to drill at the 94th RRC. Since I'm in the headquarters, that means we are very top heavy as far as rank goes. Basically, there are more officers here than enlisted and the majority of people are O-4's.

At the HHC here, the highest ranking soldier pins on rank, in our case, it happens to be a 2 Star.

Sweet. I have a three star in the family, but he's retired now and in the states. I told Rick though if he ever makes E-8 let alone E-9, we should get him to do it. :)

Hey, hun! Congrats to you and the husband, tell him I said way to go. I know you miss the US and all, but I think you're really lucky to get to experience other places/people while you guys are still young. Kiara will have pictures to show her friends of when she was a tiny kiddo living in Italia!!

It's awesome getting pinned by a 2 Star. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous though! The whole command of the 94th around you while you get pinned! Something I won't soon forget tho.

We have to much brass around here, daily in our defact when we eat chow at lunch there is at least a 0-5 walking around, the other day I dreded going in after seeing the van with the Red Plate and 3 stars on it. They are like landminds, salute, salute, salute, every where you turn.... it can drive a e-3 crazy

11-20-2004, 06:54 PM
The officers are really cool where they are. If you miss a salute, more often then not they don't give a fuck.

You're not a regular though, let alone in TRADOC (remember we are still learning here). NG and reserves are a lot more laid back.

Yeah, that is true, but when needed we have the ability to be formal. One thing that really allows us to be laid back is that we always accomplish the mission, no ifs ands or buts.

TRADOC is and always will be far more strict
than any portion of regular Army life.

what really sucks about it is We are under Tradoc for some 40 weeks, while others are already out and have it a bit easier... then again they are all the quicker headed over to Iraq.
