Combat Maneuvers and Shield Maneuvers

I've been trying to decide what CMs to get for my UAC ambushing Rogue. I'm 2x CM, in Sunfist, and wear brig if that matters. I know the basics are:
Shadow Mastery 5
Vanish 3
Punch Mastery 3

But what else do rogues usually end up getting? Should I pick up an active CM or should I just stick with passives? At the moment, my CMs are:
Shadow Mastery 5
Vanish 3
Punch Mastery 3
Surge of Strength 1
Divert 2
Combat Movement 5
Combat Mobility 2
Combat Focus 5

I was thinking about getting a stance, but I'm not sure I need Predator's Eye with 2x Ambush and Slippery Mind doesn't seem that useful since I'm not cast at often. Does anyone have any information on stances?

I plan picking up Shield Use post cap. What are some worth while shield maneuvers for a Ambushing Rogue? I kinda like Shield Bash, but can Forest Gnome effectively use it?

Couldn't say about the CMan's, since I don't have a rogue at a high enough level to say very much about it... but, with regards to the Shield Use, definitely pick up some Shield Focus of the size shield your using, and Shield Brawler, to reduce the MM reduction that shields give.

The 3 that jumped out at me immediately were Shield Focus, Shield Brawler and Shield Swiftness. Taking all the ranks in those eats up about half my total points since Rogues can only 2x in Shield Use. Considering how expensive shield maneuvers are, I'll only have room for a few more once I finish with the core maneuvers. I definitely need to make the remaining choices count but nothing else jump out as really useful for an ambusher.

I decided to try shield bash and Riposte. I'm sorry i did. Riposte sounds like a great skill, but hunting like level critters, I have never successfully countered an attack with the riposte. So far it's been a total waste. I haven't met anyone else in the game who is using it to gather feedback.

Well that's never a good sign. What race was your character and how many ranks in Shield Use and Shield Bash did you have?
