I was wondering, who if anyone has helped making your character whop they are? Or influnced them for good or bad?

I started playing GS in 1998, several people aided me along the way. Gave me ideas, inspiration and guidence.

Primum was the first one to help me along. He showed me about staying in character. He had the best sense of humor.

My very favorite is Celest. When I first went to the rift I was scared, and there she was. Older then me, and seemed to be as mean as the day was long. After her rescuing me, teaching me the ways of the rift, mostly she said so she wouldn't have to come get my fead arse, she became a dear friend to my wizard.

She showed me alot about RP'ing, and how to do it in so many different ways. I lost touch with her about 2 years ago, and miss her dearly.

If by chance anyone knows her, or if she is still around in one form or the other, tell her the fiesty wizard says hello.

A couple of people who I doubt most anyone will remember...

Eivar was another healer and took me under her wing. She gave me a, ice blue laen falchion with cold crits to use while hunting. Back then, that was a major weapon. It was lost on the Mine Road when it got dropped as a result of the evil eye sorc spell. She and Mojo (a bard) had an ongoing affair.

Also, there was Greywulf. He was a wizard and in COL and kept, gently, trying to recruit me to it. He was always happy to spell up a young healer who couldn't even transfer a bleeding wound yet. A very nice guy; he was also Dreamweaver's love.

Those two come to mind especially but really, seeing how small the population was in the Ice Age, it was impossible for anyone to have not had an effect on Raven. Sagan. Katrioania. Harcourt. Bleeds. Metaboculous. The list goes on.

Mamuluke started me on the game and showed me the ropes. Then the spot/PC crew of Kranar, Edaarin, Buckwheat, Kelood, Askip, Edgeleaf, etc took over from there.

I hate making lists! I invariably leave someone out :(

Lots of people have helped directly and/or by example. My friends, and even a few enemies, have made GS a fun place to be and Caiy has learned a lot from all of them.

Gemstone is so big, I'm usually influenced by people and they dont even realize it (also I hate namedropping). Anyone who has EVER played an evil character or still plays one, I probably looked at logs of you to help me develop Jihna.

Can it be OOC stuff too? My husband was buying me female villian movies for a straight month when I was still confused about her personality and before I wrote the background. Later on, I even did research on brainwashing cults cause I had *no effing clue* how to play a brainwashed shemale spawn of Luukos. That research ended up helping the most.

So uhh...people to thank. Brainwashed American soldiers who faught in Korea, The Temple of the Vampire and of course, The Davidians.

:D

My empath was easier. I just stalk Nilandia. :P

Hmmm. Lorinda, Malikary, Nystiral, Sheka, Eugenides, Jolivette, Berkana (all in the beginning, some still so), then came Adredrin/Danica/Astria, Dainslef, Marclar, Sepher, Dalboz, Angelrise, Khirdahn, Yavanna, Valiria, Dieandra... Naessi likes them... she hates Evelith, but I adore her, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE messing with Vonka, though Naessi despises her and makes her cry at every opportunity.

Naessi is constantly "becoming" who she is. Every interaction makes a difference.

The good folks from the original Clan Snar helped me understand the meaning and importance of roleplaying... Lots of other folks along the way, too many to name and/or remember.

Hmm ages ago who helped and inspired me, Dominiqua/Lleto, Pinkpea, Manny, Avantos, Bladegirt, Emilly. And when I started up again there have been several kind, helpful and inspiring people Chaerion, Vivianna, Plur, Nordred, Ayami, Faiyth, and there was this guy who gave me a weapon but his name excapes me at the moment. It started with an M.. I want to say Mordithspawn or Mithirander. It was a long funky spelled name.

Thrak or Thraak or some variation I can't remember now. He was a rogue and impossibly old (IMO at the time.) Took me under
his wing, gave me some good equipment and showed me the ropes of GS. Later Metaboculous showed me what it meant to be a warrior.

On the other hand, have you noticed how impossibly hard it is to find someone completely new to the game to impart nice nice on?

Oh someone mentioned Vonka, my rogue just loves being around her. She is one who I have never seen break character.

Heck even in whispers she is still Vonka. There have been many along my way, who have helped or such. The most impact on my wizard though came from the great Celest. I need to keep a look out for her.

Pastoya helped me a few times...hunt, get skins for CoL, etc. which was awesome.
Vethin is one of my good friends. He taught me how to rp.

I've learned from most to take care of, help out, and teach the newbs...not that i'm incredibly old, but not new either....

Ruffelin adopted my first real warrior, Thrainn. He taught me how much more fun the game was when you roleplayed, and gave my warrior a great direction to follow.

Heh, he took me out to take down my first titan, it was a fun time.

Galadriel as well. Though when the player passed, her character passed over to another person's hands. I found that rather disagreeable and never interacted with the character again.

Criket, who told me about the wizard 8 years ago and where to download it. After playing a couple months without it and wondering how people were always killing rats before I could even finish reading - OMG, what a difference!

Elatus, for adopting me as his sister when I was young and lost and alone.

Chucho, for giving me the heart of a ranger.

And Drektor, for being there when everyone else left ...

The first character I met that really influenced me was some snert named Vorthais. I didn't have any other friends ingame, and he taught me a lot of what I know now. Mainly, what not to do.
