Assuming you have the ranks and skill verbs to make a potion can you make anything on the GS wiki list providing you follow the instructions or do you need to have the recipe in your alchemy book for the recipe to be successful?

The wiki serves as a great alchemy book available to all. If you want to RP it out, having on IG would be fun, otherwise, they are not necessary.
