anyone have any probs installing on windows 10?

I installed everything, and I run lich, and it says it needs gtk, to install it, I click yes, blah blah, lich will now restart. Okay, lich restarts, says it needs gtk.... endless circle.

Everything works fine for me on Win 10, even the earlier win 10 builds. I would try reinstalling Lich

I've only been on Win 10 for 5 days or so. Upgrade when smooth from win 8.1 to 10, on my surface pro3. I figured i'd have issues with something somewhere....imagine my surprise when GS/lich/ one note/office etc all still worked. So far so good. . . .

me? yes. May reinstall Ruby as a test and to be sure it is the correct one.

Reinstalling Ruby did not fix the issue with linking. It is not a big deal as I use the lich launcher to login , but I did want to let others know that their may be an issue with it when they try.

Before attempting to log in directly with Lich, I think you need to log in manually via the website to ensure that you have downloaded all of the various simutronics nonsense to run the game. It'll make it easier (possible) for Lich to detect the stuffs for its use.

I had absolutely 0 difficulties installing on Win 10 based on the instructions on the lich site. It auto-executed the downloading of mysqllite and gkt upon first being run.

I'd go find the lich instructions and go line by line to make sure you installed everything correctly.

ugh .. having the exact same problem. lich won't connect to the internet. I've done all the steps, I also get the launch method 1 failed waiting for client to connect

trying to log in from lich. I can log in over the website with stormfront and no problems. Lich connects to my account and runs normally but when you try and log in ..it doesn't then gives that error. Only have this issue on my new computer with win10

Okay. You say no problems but im getting confused.

Can you login over the website into SF and does lich connect?
Can you login through the SGE and does lich connect?
Can you login through Lich and does lich connect?

Look in your lich folder for lich_debug.txt. If you can't find that, look in the lich/temp/ folder for the newest debug-<numbers here>.txt. Post both if you can find them.

So, I can load and try to login with lich, it'll fail, but this *.sal file is put in my lich/temp folder, if I duoble click on that, it'll load in with the wizard.

there is a space in the .sal file name extension... is that a direct C/P without any tinkering on your end? because that shouldn't be there...

Did you open your lich.rbw file and maybe accidentally add a space somewhere to it when you were investigating?

In windows 10. Goes to SETTINGS - SYSTEM -> DEFAULT APPS --> SCROLL DOWN RIGHT PANEL --> CHOOSE DEFAULT APPS BY FILE TYPE. Scroll down to .SAL and confirm that its using: Ruby Interpreter (GUI) 2.0.0p647 [i386-mingw32]


edit: fuck, cant set default through this menu. wtf. Maybe this wont be your problem.

You don't have to have it running as administrator. Mine is not setup that way. But you might as well give it a shot, go to the ruby folder and right-click "Run as admin.". OR , Right-click, properties -> compatibilty -> run this program as an admin.

Fortunately it seems all the lich stuff loaded properly because all I had to do when I opened lich was associate it with ruby again and it worked perfectly. I hope they got all the bugs out since it seems I am now using 10.

Yep, scumbag Microsoft changed the update nag screen to make it auto accept if you close it by clicking the X. To prevent the upgrade you now have to explicitly click decline or some shit.
