Are we sure Ambush doesnt matter for open aiming? I went from 1x ambush / 2x perception to just 2x perception and feel like I am not hitting my mark as much.

whirlin would be the person to ask, but you could always gather some data and compare to test your hypothesis

I had ambush and 2x perception when I was messing with ranged and rarely missed what I was aiming at.

Don't remember if CM matters but I was 1x in that too.

Well, I went back to 1x ambush and 2x perception and miss about 1% of the time which is way better than it was.

Aiming from the open relies solely on the Perception skill, while aiming from hiding relies on the Perception and Ambush skills.

We'd need like, a super ton of tests to prove one way or another on ambushing's contribution. Encumbrance is also a huge factor in aiming.

Must just be a coincidence then. I sure do hit stuff a lot more reliably when I am 1x ambush / 2x perception than just 2x perception.

I want to say it definitely helps to have ambush training. I'll save up for a fixskill and get some hard data to support my claim.

walk out with a bow, an arrow, and a loincloth. 0 ranks of anything. and move up. maybe get yourself some armor, unless your a rogue and going 3x dodge lol
