Got's me a fixskill... currently OHE but considering doing the UAC thing or... I was looking at the critical table for OHBs and they seem like a viable ambushing options. Any UAC rogues or OHB rogues wanna chime in? Thanks! ( my rogue is a level 37 dwarf )

as a dwarf I must say you should look into range, head shots minimize hunts way too much to make it not worthwhile to be able to start smashing/slicing open skulls

Would not ranged as a dwarf be bad? Low dex and all

The advantage of dwarf for ranged is that strength factors into roundtime. You'll be able to fire an aimed shot faster than the flowery elves. Plus your dex bonus isn't negative, and firing 10x (6x bow, 4x arrows, or 5x bow, 5x masterwork arrows) is pretty cheap to accomplish.

Given your height, I would favor ranged, too. Although kicking things in the stomach isn't a horrible option.

Picking up arrows is a real pain in the ass. Your feet and/or fists don't have to be collected after every punch and you will never have them disarmed. You'll also have the knowledge that you're better at UAC than the class it's intended for.

Ranged can likely be the best option right now.

But sticking to the topic at hand depending on how else you want to be spending your training points might influence your choice, s/b is the cheapest route to go. Outside of that s/b does have some rt advantages against the other two. There aren't any good blunts that are as fast as a dagger. And while not readily apparent once you start getting encumbered you'd keep the rt from using a dagger longer then you will with your fist. There are also a much larger selection of edged weapons to choose from.

Blunt has an edge in that using a mace you will get crush crits every time, this tends to mean if you smack something in the head/neck its dead no questions asked

UAC's biggest edge is that it somewhat bypasses the ever annoying EBP system. EBP is factored into UAC but it isn't a flat out chance to basically miss your target the way it is with melee. Ambushing with UAC you skip tiers with each ambush and as a dwarf you are going to want to knock most things down anyway which just means that when you go to strike the killing blow you will most likely be at excellent positioning. And as Velfi mentioned, you won't have to worry about getting disarmed.

UAC Ambush is very effective.

You can easily get head crit kills on the first punch against squishier targets. (3sec hide RT + 4 sec punch rt)
I moved to kick and get one shot kills about 75% of the time on squishies and 50%ish on harder targets. Kick chest has the same crit tables as punch head. (3 sec hide RT + 5 sec kick rt)

You can be a bit more efficient in that once you hit excellent positioning you often don't have to hide again.

It's really effective. No disarm issues. However I think that TWC (esp. dervish) and ranged are faster at killing. But UAC is pretty damn fast still.
