One of my favorite portraits by far
His fluttery baby hands crack me up every time I see them.
I love how smooth and shiny his arms and legs are. It's like Tisket waxed him :P
That's freaking awesome! lol
I was trying to find my exact join date (which I did) but your posts here ended up in my activity stream, so I looked at all of your images. After seeing this one, I'm so glad I did. The composition has flawless details which I'll enumerate: (1) Head too big for his frame. People with heads like this look a little awkward so it contributes to the overall theme of the image. (2) Genuine look of shock with an undertone of hopefulness. As if to ask himself "could this unexpected interruption turn into a happy surprise?" (3) Perfectly groomed eyebrows and beard/hair along with the wax-like sheen of the extremities (the merit of which has already been mentioned). (4) Shapeliness of the majority of the body combined with a gut. Everything about this man says "guilty pleasures." (5) The top accentuates his gut which hints at a teasing nature, saying "normally, I'd cover this up... but in front of you I have nothing to hide." (6) Stubby yet articulate fingers. Deft but again, physically awkward. This is truly the most subtle indicator of the duality of this man. (7) The white lace indicates that he likes to let on as the innocent. But what he's really saying is "boy are you in for a surprise!" (8) Tassel-ties. Letting those babies dangle near the hips let us know that he's definitely playful, maybe even a bit impish.
